QUASI-REVIEW: TRANFORMERS, BEE-OTCH

Saw TRANSFORMERS last night at midnight. Yeah, I'm on 3hrs of sleep today, so forgive any weird postings. Anyway, it was fun and what'd you'd expect in a Transformers movie by Michael Bay. Think about that for a second... "The Rock", "Armageddon", "Bad Boys" & "The Island" + "Transformers cartoon" = "Michael Bay's Transformers".

So review....... nah. You'll be hearing all kinds of reviews, good and bad from peeps all week. Instead, I thought I'd focus on some of the small minute aspects of the film.

So here are 11 Neat Things of Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS:
(in no particular order)

1) Bumblebee, the camaro, parked next to an old yellow bug.

2) "One shall stand! One shall fall!"

3) Starscream's voice - acceptable (wanted more)

4) The Witwickys - loved em.

5) Prime's mouth piece (when in "battlemode").

6) "You've failed me once again, Starscream!"

7) Decepticons wrecking havoc throughout!

8) Use of cartoon transformation sound.

9) Original Autobot & Decepticon logos, unchanged.

10) Prime blade and Megatron mace (non-energon). Goes by in a flash, and not in same scene... but they ARE in the movie.

11) Peter Cullen reprising his role as Optimus Prime. Worth the price of admission alone! If only they got Frank Welker to reprise Megatron. Hugo Weaving, while a good voice actor in his own right, brought nothing to the character. Peter Cullen, I love you!

Sorry, I know this review is disappointing, but its what I'm posting for various reasons. Go see it on the Big Screen! Sit dead center if you can, and avoid sitting too close. Get a big popcorn (with lots of butter) and a giant soda!

*notice I used the Transformers: Armada image?

Did you know that Peter Cullen also did the voice for KITTs nemesis KARR in Knight Rider?
Of course you did.
Can't wait to see it though but will have to wait to the end of the month for a UK screening, unless anyone wants to spring for a plane ticket.
Of course you don't.

Right on about the voices. You couldn't really tell it was Hugo. Should have been old Frank as Megatron.

What about Jazz jumping on the tank ala Kup jumping on Blitzkrieg?

I really wish they wouldn't have used that name for the tank. Now I know there will never been the real one.
