GELATINOUS ALIEN EGG

The other day I was at Blast From the Past in Burbank,CA. It's a little Ma-N-Pa shop that sells sweet Geek Collectibles like Sideshow Statues, New & Vintage Toys and Comics. In one of the glass cases were several of these funky "clear gel" ALIEN EGGS.

"I have no idea what those are, but I do know I must own one" I said to the Universe. "Ha, Ok." replied Mrs Smash, who thought I was talking to her. And so I bought one (about $4)

I'm still not sure what its from - if its a custom mold or an official release? It kind of reminds me of some kind of underwater gelatinous egg...

...which made me think of that lame Dark Horse series "ALIENS: Colonial Marines" which at one point depicted Aqua Aliens (Aqualiens?). This aquatic line of thought, naturally, then led me to place the egg next to AQUAMAN for the time being.
(I have no idea why I shared this with you)

WALT SIMONSON'S ARCHANGEL

JimSmash Reader JASON G just sent me this sick sketch of my favorite ARCHANGEL by his semi/co-creator WALT SIMONSON! Sooooooo awesome! Someone should this image, with "JIMSMASH" underneath, tattooed on their back. You could be the 'JIMSMASH READER OF THE MONTH'!

Another rad interpretation by ERIC CALDERONE!

COMIC SCORE: MIRACLEMAN TRADES

I was in a local comic shop yesterday and stumbled upon Alan Moore's MIRACLEMAN: BOOK 2 and BOOK 3! The store had discovered it in their back storage supply and had put them out on the shelf an hour before. The books are relatively rare and are usually priced pretty steep, but being the cool store they are, they sold em to me for just $25 each! I really love these on my shelf, but can't help but contemplate, "Hmm, should I sell em?" For now, I KEEP!

*Anyone have Book 1, 4 & 5 they want to give me?

RIP: RANDY "MACHO MAN" SAVAGE

Sad news today:
RANDY "MACHO MAN" SAVAGE died today.
(heart attack while driving)

As a Child of the 80s, I lept from furniture of various heights with the Spirit of Macho Man behind me! He was one of the true Wrestling Greats and I will always fondly remember him for his awesome larger-than-life Theatrics, Slim Jims and his Spectacular role in 'SPIDER-MAN'.

Today we've lost a great Entertainer.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Savage.

KOTOBUKIYA GAMBIT

I'm not a huge GAMBIT fan... I dug him at his initial debut and during the JOE MAD Uncanny X-Men run... but if I was a diehard, I might be inclined to pick up this new statue from Kotobukiya. Any diehard Gambit fans want to chime in? Whatchathinkofthis?

Oh my!!! While looking for the above pics, I discovered that apparently Kotobukiya is also planning an ARCHANGEL statue!!!
Archangel is my favorite!
Gimmie gimmie gimmie!!!

HALLMARK ORNAMENTS 2011

Here are some of the geeky Hallmark Christmas Ornaments being released for 2011... atleast I think they are all from/for 2011. I find the lack of Xmas Spirit in them disappointing.... but I might have to grab that Cylon anyway.

STATUE OF THE DAY: SERGIO ARAGONES' BATMAN

CRAP I COLLECT: MOON KNIGHT #1s

Mrs. Smash says I collect Collections, which I cannot argue against. One of the dumber ones are MOON KNIGHT #1s. I don't know how this started, but it was sometime in the mid-80s. Thankfully, Moon Knight has new #1s often, but not too often as to ruin the fun. I don't pick up EVERYTHING, but definitely the first issue of a new monthly ongoing... and sometimes mini-series, depending on my mood upon its release. Now you know me a little bit more than you did before!
