CUSTOM MAGUS STATUE

Dig this custom MAGUS statue by JOHN FICCHI! Yea!!! I always dug the evil alternate future incarnation of ADAM WARLOCK (where's his mirror-mirror-mustache?!). This custom is made from the Bowen Adam Warlock statue (Classic Version). I wish Bowen would make one.... I wonder if Ficchi takes commissions?
I know atleast one other who'd want one... but he'd want the old school FROMAG from the 70s:

BUCKY CAPTAIN AMERICA STATUE

Although I wasn't happy with bringing BUCKY back from the dead, I did enjoy the stories of his return... and him becoming the new CAPTAIN AMERICA after Steve Rogers died (who's now back, because he wasn't actually dead, but trapped in Time... its ok, my head hurts too). I feel that [writer] Brubaker has dropped the ball a little with Bucky as Cap, but still hold hope that he'll have some classic stories of his own. Anyway, check out this statue of "BUCKY CAP" by Sideshow Collectibles. I dig it... I really dig the variant version without the mask on. Unfortunately the variant is already sold out. Boo.

Regular & Variant

MARIO FETT

This is Today's TeeFury (available only today) and entitled "FETTIO BROS" which reads "FELLATIO BROS" if you have a mind such as mine. I would love to play Super Mario Bros all Boba'd Out.

JIMSMASH TURNS 5 ! ! !

5 years ago on September 29, 2005 I did my first post - a pic of a Wookiee throwing a baseball. Since then I've been doing Wookiee/(Star Wars) baseball pics for the birthday posts. Don't know why - I hate baseball.

But A WOOKIEE LEAGUE WOULD ROCK!

BATMAN BLACK & WHITE: DUSTIN NGUYEN

The next statue in the BATMAN BLACK & WHITE Series is based on the artwork of DUSTIN NGUYEN. Nguyen has quickly become one of my favorite Bat-Artists with his recent work on DETECTIVE COMICS, SUPERMAN/BATMAN and BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM (and some others). I dig this statue but was hoping for a.... "better"... pose.

HELLO HOORAY FOR ALICE COOPER!!!

ALICE COOPER has finally been nominated for the ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME! I know its a ridiculous institution, but its always nice to be invited to the party, ya know?

Alice posts:

"On behalf of Dennis (Dunaway), Neal (Smith), Michael (Bruce) and the late great Glen (Buxton), we are honored to be nominated for induction in to the Hall. Anytime you are nominated in your chosen profession, it's definitely a compliment to be recognized.

It's hard to fathom possibly being in the same club as artists who inspired us originally, like the Beatles, the Stones, the Beach Boys, the Who, the Yardbirds, and Chuck Berry, and to be nominated the same year as legendary artists like my personal favorite songwriter of all time, Laura Nyro, as well as Donovan, who sang on our "Billion Dollar Babies" record, and our good friends in Bon Jovi, is a great feeling.

Five guys starting a band, just hoping to meet girls and drink free beer, rehearsing and playing local bars five hours a night for the first few years -- that was us. We came up with the theatrics and made every effort not to sacrifice the music one bit; we thought it was like our job to bring theatrics to rock 'n' roll. And then, amazingly enough, we were having a bunch of massive hit records which was proof that theatricality and rock 'n' roll could, in fact, be joined successfully. We've been told that we revolutionized the live concert experience and if that's truly the case and it's led to this nomination for induction into the Hall of Fame, the only thing to say is, of course, "There's no business like show business!" - Alice Cooper

Congrats, Alice!

By the way, the new "THEATER OF DEATH" live performance dvd (of the same named 2009 World Tour) is now available in the U.S. (October Worldwide). Gotta pick it up!

KOTOBUKIYA ARTFX BOBA FETT

Based on his appearance in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK! Its about 8" tall and is a pre-painted snap-kit. It's apparently the first lil' statue in an upcoming series. Look for it in March 2011 for about $45.

YET ANOTHER SPIDER-MAN COSTUME CHANGE

Oh goodie, SPIDER-MAN is getting yet another costume.... which makes sense I suppose since its been quite some time since his last costume change; 2006 with the "Iron Spider-Man" (2007 if you count his brief return to the Black Costume). I'm sure it will be temporary, but the gimmick has grown tiresome.

However, the changes come with oncoming new regular (and sole) writer DAN SLOTT who I really enjoy. Add some Ramos art in the mix... could be fun!

A brief look at his costume changes over the years:

WHOA......

...I did not realize ZACK SNYDER directed "LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS". Crazy. Anyone see it? It has a 51% on RottenTomatoes. And many reviewers are saying it is NOT a kids movie; lack of humor and full of armored owls fighting each other in aerial battles with sharp talons. Sounds kind of coolish on paper.... possible "cult classic rental"??? If I was a kid, I'd be all over this.

FETISH FRIDAY: FEMALE TRANSFORMERS

I saw these dumb "Sexy Transformers" halloween costumes and thought I'd do a Fetish Friday on FEMALE CYBERTRONIANS. Cause you know... sometimes its just fun to "go there".
The first Female Cybertronians debuted on the 80s Cartoon Show (see post here). Later, in 1984's awesome TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE we were introduced to ARCEE, the kickass pink futuristic roadster who had Springer's heart. She's sort of become the Transformer Pin-Up girl amongst scary fans.
It's a little-known-fact that there are only Female AUTOBOTS. Well, until FLAMEWAR was created (made available as an exclusive figure at BOTCON 2005) and became the FIRST FEMALE DECEPTICON. She is from a Timelines addition to the Generation 1 Continuity Family and one of the last of the original Decepticon army. I must say... me likey the villainesses...

We all know its incredibly sexy when a girl wears one of her man's shirts....
Check it out... its like Flamewar is wearing Megatron's....What? What did I say? STOP JUDGING!!!!

NOVA & STARLORD STATUES

In 2006, Marvel changed NOVA from an embarrassing chump (my opinion) to kickass dude! First order of business was changing the costume; I love the new/current costume and have been following the character since. Bowen Designs even made rad statue and man, I wantie! I envision him standing on my slowly-growing "COSMIC SHELF" next to my THANOS and CAPTAIN MARVEL (70s) statues.
And check out this awesome cover with the new STARLORD:
Similar to Nova's recent makeover, Marvel made STARLORD a sweet looking character as well! He's now leader of the new GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. I'd love for for Bowen to make a Starlord statue, too.
I wouldn't necessarily want statues of all the Guardians/Galaxy folk.... although there is a small part of me that gleefully imagines a ROCKET RACOON & GROOT Uber-Statue!
