"LIVE-ACTION" ANIMATED FIGURES

The next batch of Star Wars figures is based on the awesome CLONE WARS cartoon series.

It looks like Lucas is trying to bring that stylized world into his own... meaning these figures are NOT in the 2D animated style.

Four figures to note are GENERAL KENOBI in CLONE GEAR, SAESEE TIIN in CLONE GEAR & HELMET, "AQUA TROOPER" (or whatever they're called) and QUARREN "Squid Face" WARRIOR.

The Kenobi looks ok, I suppose. And the AquaTrooper looks like GIJoe's Torpedo & Boba Fett's love child.

Unfortunately, Saesee Tiin looks like shit. Its a real shame that in the cartoon, that WAS Saesee Tiin, and not some other new character. In the live-action, he looks really lame unlike his awesome animated counterpart. The cartoon version had attitude and was visually stunning; an instant favorite of mine. The animated style BUST-UP from last year was more successful, I think. A middle-ground could be freakin' sweet. I'd love to see a KOTOBUKIYA kit of him in the armor and helmet, but keep the attitude the hard-lines gave him. If I had the time, I'd make a custom. But alas....

The Squid Face warrior made me think of the shirtless "Darth Fabio" Anakin figure I previously posted about. Both would be fitting slaves to the all-powerful Jabba the Hutt.
