btw, that image is from Battlestar Galactica, showing a Cylon being "reborn"..... just to clarify to anyone who thought JimSmash is becoming the Playboy Channel. ;)
We watched the first two episodes of BG since we were at Kaan's watchign his cat anyways and the one comment I want to make is: YOU DON'T NEED TO MOVE THE CAMERA EVERY SINGLE SHOT ALL THE TIME!!! It's a cheap way to make things "exciting" when they're not. THEY EVEN DO IT FOR THE LONG-SHOT SPACE SCENES!!! weak!In addition, I'm quite bored with the "they look like us" syndrome of sci-fi TV shows dealing with other races. It's a cop-out. If they are frickin' robots or bio-robots or whatever, make them LOOK that way! Even 7 of 9 had small attachments to differ her from the humans. Farscape did OK, well great actually, 'cept for the police-race (forget what they were called) - but this show blows it when it had a chance. WEAK.Other than those two points it was pretty decent - I'd watch it if we had cable - but we don't, so I'm spared teh pain. LOL
Ain't that the sensory deprivation chamber where yer in collage and they get ya to drink that mushroom blood outta the scull and ya see all the stuff and hear the horns and all that? Then you find yerself livin out of a van down by the river!!!
SpaceJase... have you seen the other episodes? Because it seems like you're critiquing just the surface stuff. The "they look like human" angle is essential to one of the main themes of the shows. If they had 7of9 shit on them, it wouldn't work at all. I suggest renting season 1 and giving it a shot. I was a BG basher once myself. But now I'm a total convert and love the show!
yes,..yes,..I refused to watch it for the same reasons, but after watching the second season,..I love it. but, be warned. the second season gets kind of weak halfway through, but you have to power through it.............
I meant "after watching the FIRST season"..........
