Last night on A&E, I caught abit of "Look Up In The Sky", the Superman retrospective. In it, they showed some concept design for the Tim Burton abomination that thankfully never made it into existence. Seriously, click on this image to enlarge and take a good hard look at it. Black costume? Tubes running in and out? What the fuck is that shit sticking out of his neck? Also picture Nicolas Cage in that getup, as he was to be Superman. Tim Burton dropping his Superman flick saved his life, he just doesn't realize it.

Tim Burton was trying to play up that he was from an alien race...he was also going to focus on how he was a misfit because of it. Typical Tim Burton. He also made a buttload of money for doing nothing. Warner Bros. tried to get him to go in another direction, he refused, so they had to buy him out of his contract. I think he came up with this wild haired scheme to make money to finance another film. I don't think he ever really wanted to direct it. Just speculation though.
He's like a combination of: Bane (from Batman) and Steel (a Superman impersonator who armored himself in a steel suit emblazoned with the "S"). All he needs are some blades for fingers and you could include Edward Scisor Hands into the mix.
Actually, it looks very much like Conduit from the Death of Clark Kent storyline.
I think Legs is onto something...Ya'll live out there and are around the industry, how much stuff like that happens???
probably more often than any of us think.
