X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

For YEARS I've always wanted to do an X-Men comic series set during the time of the classic Stan Lee/Jack Kirby early years; when the original 5 X-Men were still teenagers, still students and still in the black and yellow costumes. Well, finally Marvel is doing such a miniseries entitled "X-Men: First Class". The covers (by diff't artist than interior, unfortunately) look awesome. The uniforms are tweaked and have a more resemblance to the uniforms in the current ongoing monthly "New X-Men." But it works. I'm just hoping they don't cheez it up and turn the book into a lame "WB Teen Drama".

The book will be written by Jeff Parker with pencils by Roger Cruz. Cruz is best known (by me anyways) for blatently ripping off Joe Madureira's art in the 90s. But hey, I love Joe Mad's art, so it works. ha! Although, Cruz has copied other artists' style, too, so who knows what this book will look like.
