DISNEY, YOU'RE DOIN' A-HECKUVA JOB

Disney's return to traditional 2D animated movies (WooHoo!!!) begins with "THE FROG PRINCESS" and will star their first African-American Princess, "Maddy." The story is described as "an American fairy tale" set in the French Quarter of New Orleans. "From the heart of Louisiana's mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn." Plus Randy Newman on music, because there's still a few people out there not tired of his music in Disney movies. I mean, what better musician than him to make music about Black New Orleans?! The Villain is set to be George W. Bush, who does nothing throughout the entire movie, but does make a brief appearance at the end of the credits.

None. Google "New Orleans" and "Randy Newman" and perhaps you'll discover the reason why. This movie fits him perfectly.

I love the new PC Disney....god,...throw in a Polar bear who's been misplaced next time.....

that would be a HERMAPHODITE Polar Bear (you know, cause global warming are turning them into....)

New Orleans, yeah... kinda weird. But its not the first time they've had a non-white lead female character; Pocohantas, Mulan, Aladdin... but it is their first black one.

I got no problem with a non-white female lead.......but an "american fairy tale"?????no........It's The frog prince,It's a classic...what friggin royalty is in America...(besides celebreties)....just come up with something new,..don't re-hash an old fiary tale and call it new, and change everything around. It would be like taking the story of Aladdin, and setting it in Kansas, on a farm, and casting a blue eyed farm girl as the lead and calling it an "American Fairy Tale".....
no it's not, it's a blatant rip off.

Yeh I just blogged about this over at Highbrid Nation, check it out if you get a chance. Anyway, it really is about time Disney gave little girls a black princess to look up to. Its long overdue. I also think its great that the film will take place in New Orleans. I'll definately have to take my neice to the Frog Princess.
