Anyone's who spent more than 5minutes with me knows I'm not a fan (ie rageful hate) of the AVP movies that don't acknowledge (what AVP movies?).

With that said... I did like the design of the 'Wolf Predator' (momentary pause to sigh at that name), and here's a new statue of the ole fella:

I like that the Alien appears to still be alive and fighting.... one "tough little son-of-a-bitch!"

I really wish they's start making AVP statues that depict the ALIEN winning. I love me some 'Last Stand' scenarios, especially with Aliens involved! Give me a statue with 3 Predators being attacked by several Aliens; 1 dead Predator, 1 dead Alien, 1 Predator being killed, 1 Badass Battle-Damaged Predator about to be overwhelmed by other Aliens. Something like that. Gimmie!

PREDALIEN MOTORCYCLE

I'm posting this because about a dozen of you have sent it to me this past week; a custom made "ALIEN motorcycle". Thank you all for thinking of me and sending a cool link/image my way!

But... this isn't an ALIEN bike.... it's a PREDALIEN bike.

Have my lessons of hate been for naught? Or were you merely trying to ruffle my feathers?

So anyway, here it is! And again, truly, thank you all for sending it my way.

Hello Mr. Smash,

I have read your column for a while now, and I have usually found your site very entertaining. So first off, thanks for running your site. However, I am writing you today to pass along a revelation I had over the holiday break, and felt you would appreciate it.

Over the years, I have witnessed your love of all things "Alien" and your hatred of anything past Aliens 3. As well as your religious hatred for all of the AVP stuff. Now in my heart, I must admit I am more of a Predator fan than an alien fan, but I would agree that the quality of the movies alien and aliens are superior to the predator movies when it comes to cinematic quality. I just like the predator creature more. Either way, I have found amusement in your nit-picking of certain body designs of the aliens, and your scrutiny of certain failings of the past movies and directions that the creatures have been taken, but I didn't really feel as passionate about any of it as you. I felt quite content in my "eh, they are just fun movies" mentality.

That is until last Saturday night.

When I watched AVP: Requiem for the first time.

Now I had watched AVP 1, and knew it was shit, but for the most part it was just aliens fighting predators, and that's all I wanted. Even though they made both creatures out to be chumps of their former glory. But for some reason, AVP2 just went too far. I found myself yelling at the screen, explaining to my wife the ins and outs of why the movie was so horrible and inaccurate. I began quoting specific lines of dialogue from the original movies, and citing specific biological terms of alien parts and predator technology. Making bold statements such as "But they just don't work that way! It goes against the whole point of what the aliens are!"

It then spiraled into why Aliens 4 and AVP1 were crap as well. Watching that movie, my mind just painted pictures of a room full of morons, writing the plots as a committee. "And then it would be cool if the predator pulled his shoulder gun off and used it like a pistol! Yeah and maybe he could hold it sideways! Oh and make the alien mix with the predator to a super creature! Don't forget to add some blonde who takes her pants off! We need 12% more sex appeal according to our chart here"

Bah! Either way, I just wanted to say keep up the good fight. Your hatred is well founded.

I asked for suggestions of topics for me to post only POSITIVE things about, and you answered (you Jackals!). I have chosen the top 5 requested topics and will post 1 per day this week. Just remember, you asked for these.

I tried.
I truly, honestly tried.

But the only thing I could come up with is that you can see a [Predator] skull through the forehead dome, akin to Giger's original Alien Design.That's it. I began reaching for other things like, "It's fingers are ok". But that's weak and reaching, even for me.

I considered just posting a big blank post.

I also considered just being extremely sarcastic and actually dumping all over it....But I didn't want to post that, because this is jimPRAISE after all.

In the end, it comes down to this:
I just don't like the Predalien.

PREDALIEN CONCEPT BUST

SideShow Collectibles and Amalgamated Dynamics Inc have teamed up to produce Alien/Predator/AVP merchandise. Here is their latest outing: One of their unused Concept Designs for the PREDALIEN seen in the unwatchable AVP-R. You can buy it for $180 here. They've already produced a full-body statue of another unused Predalien concept design (here).

The sculpt & paint job is really nice and while I don't necessarily like this design, I do prefer it to the one that made it up on screen (review).

You all should know by now my disdain for the Predalien, so I'll spare you another regurgitation of my rant.... (if you don't know, click here: HATING THE PREDALIEN).

Instead I thought I'd share with you some JimSmash Hate Mail I received awhile back from "anonymous" regarding the Predalien and my intelligence:

"Fuck you. you couldn't come up with anything that successful. besides the alien-predator-AVP movie s made billions of dollars so obviously someone liked it. oh and JIM SMASH jim also not speak full sentence as jim have 5 brain cell."
