JIMSMASH TURNS 6
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIMSMASH!

My first post was a simple stream-of-consciousness thought:
That a WOOKIEE BASEBALL LEAGUE would Rock!
On each birthday since, I've posted a pic of a Wookiee playing baseball.
Wow, I can't believe JIMSMASH! has been around this long!

WRONG ALIEN AGAIN, FOX
I was in Barnes & Noble the other day and saw the above ALIENS dvd... I thought it was for 'AVP' at first because the cover shows the alien from that movie (not the alien from 'Aliens').....You can tell its the 'AVP' alien quickly by the Top Lip Area.
Hey FOX, you're using the WRONG ALIEN on the dvd cover. Again. THIS is the alien from 'ALIENS':
Stuff like this is a pet peeve of mine, especially when it comes anything ALIEN Related. It shows ignorance and lack of respect of the material (and the purchasing public) by the dvd packaging designers and the person(s) at FOX Studios who approved it.
This isn't the first time FOX has used the wrong alien on their packaging...
...nor is it the first time I've bitched about it.

THE NEW DAREDEVIL TITLE IS DELIGHTFUL
I'm really enjoying the new DAREDEVIL series by Mark Waid, PAOLO RIVERA and MARCOS MARTIN... simply for the fact you get gorgeous panels & pages like this one:
Rivera & Martin are rotating artists, with very similar styles. Their sequential storytelling is superb and a delight! A delight!

NO STAR WARS BLU RAY
I did not buy the Star Wars Blu Ray set. Nor do I have any plans on ever doing so.I won't buy them because:
* I find the 3 Prequels completely unwatchable
* Georgie has fucked up 'A New Hope' and 'Return of the Jedi' to the point of them, too, being unwatchable.
The changes to 'Empire' are minimal (and unnecessary)... if he hasn't destroyed that one yet, I might pick it up on blu ray as a single disc... when it becomes available. So far it appears you can only buy the movies in "Trilogy Packs". LAME!!!
The main beef I have is that Lucas refuses to make the unaltered ORIGINALS available. Lucas wants to wipe those versions out of History. He has previously stated, "Even the 35 million [video] tapes out there wont last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the [Special Edition] version." (American Cinematographer, Feb 1997)
But for those who did buy the dvd set and those who do enjoy the Prequels & Special-Special Editions... Enjoy! To each his own. I make no judgements on fans.
