That's right, the box is made entirely out of pizza!
HALLMARK ORNAMENT 2016: ALIEN QUEEN
Christmas comes in July this year! Hallmark has revealed the ALIEN QUEEN ornament, on sale July 9th (because Summer?). I will buying two; 1 for the tree, 1 for the shelf!
Man, if they could make Alien Warrior ornaments next... maybe a handful of different poses... I could hive out my xmas tree! Maybe some marines... string of Egg Lights... Ripley w/Santa Hat and Newt with xmas present!
Hallmark should also make an illuminated Egg Sack that the Queen can hook up to!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
ZEN PINBALL: ALIENS / AVP / ALIEN: ISOLATION
YES!!!!!
I hope they make an 'ALIEN3' one, too - the set design in that movie is magnificent!
* thanks, Timothy O'Brien!
NECA ALBINO ALIEN
In addition to Vasquez, Frost and [con exclusive] Newt, Neca's ALIENS SERIES 9 will include the ALBINO ALIEN, which is based on an earlyyy description of smaller drones in Cameron's first draft of 'Aliens'
From James Cameron's first screenplay draft:
"Inside the abdominal sac can be SEEN the forms of countless eggs, churning their way toward the pulsating ovipositor where they emerge glistening, to be picked up by DRONES. The drones are tiny scuttling albino versions of the "warrior" aliens we have already seen."
A different type of Xenomorph identified as a "Drone" was originally going to appear in Aliens. These Drones were going to be much smaller than the Warriors seen in the film and white in color, with an excreting probe in place of the Warrior's jaws. They were to be a worker caste inside the Hive, tending to the Queen and moving her Eggs.
Screenplay: "Ripley awakes to find a 'Drone' (a small, albino Xenomorph with a probe that excretes the resin used to build the Hive in place of its jaws, not the Drone caste seen in the films) cocooning her to the wall. She also sees the Xenomorphs attempting to remove the Eggs from the structure, 'evacuating' ahead of the impending explosion."
They were ultimately cut from the movie before filming, although they appeared in the novelization by Alan Dean Foster. While their attributes have since been applied to the Drone from the movies, the original albino caste has yet to appear in any other media.
If this is based on the briefly described early draft drones, shouldn't it be smaller than the other released Alien figures? "Ripley awakes to find a 'Drone' (a small, albino Xenomorph..."
While it's neat to create a repaint figure based on this early, unused concept, I think its lame it will be readily available yet the Newt figure will be an exclusive.
And Neca, please please please do not have that ridiculous tongue hanging out of the alien's mouth while its in package.
NECA FROST ! !
I've been asked by several people about the name "HEATH" on his armor. James Cameron had each marine (actor) decorate their armor and gear. "Heath" is short for "Heather", Frost actor Ricco Ross's then-girlfriend.
(Bill Paxton's armor has "Louise" on it, who was his then-fiance)
FACE OFF
I like to think all 3 posters were designed by the same artist, with their entire portfolio consisting solely of people facing each other.

I MUST OWN THIS NEW KHAN FIGURE
He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him! I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round perdition's flames before I give him up!
IDW'S "ART APPRECIATION" VARIANT: TMNT #57
At first I was miffed that Raphael was on the cover, instead of Leonardo. But then some friends politely pointed out that in this cover, Leonardo is the one who painted the picture of Raphael. Face palm - I'm an idiot.
Also, Raphael is the prime model choice, what with his famous smile (or lack there of).
Anyway, fun cover - I shall pick it up!
NEW 'ALIEN' and 'ALIENS' MINIMATES
I normally find MINIMATES annoying and quite stupid.
However, they know my weakness.
I have a few ALIENS Minimates already, but will soon be splurging for these little bastards.
Fuck!

ALIENS: DEFIANCE #1
ALIENS: DEFIANCE #1 came out today and it's pretty sweet.
The art is killer and there's a fun blend of 'ALIEN' and 'ALIENS' visuals in terms of interior environments, weapons and gear. For instance, they board a "Sulaco-like" ship which has Nostromo-like doorways and a MU/TH/ER room. The main character is wearing a Nostromo "astro-suit" alongside dudes in Colonial Marine gear w/Pulse Rifles.
The aliens themselves are the Warriors from 'Aliens' (my personal favorite) and the artist draws them wonderfully.
While the book isn't groundbreaking in story, and is far from perfect, it put a smile on my face. I can't remember the last time an Aliens comic did that (maybe 1997's 'Aliens: Labyrinth'?).
I'm looking forward to issue 2. Fingers crossed Amanda Ripley doesn't show up past her cameo (see below) or anything from 'Promefeces' enters the picture (if so, I will instantly bail).
Here's a taste of the art:
____
I could have done without the lame Amanda Ripley cameo
(God I hope she doesn't show up again later).
And was it necessary to spotlight the name tag?
Yes, we know her last name's "Ripley" - she just said so in the panel before.

REEBOK DROPS THE BALL
After almost atleast 6 months of excited anticipation, Reebok finally re-released their "BUG STOMPERS" shoes, a recreation of the shoes designed for and worn by Sigourney Weaver in 'ALIENS'.
But fans were quickly disappointed this morning when the shoes sold out in 38 minutes. How could they sell out so quickly? Well, they only made 426 world wide (426 for 'Alien Day', which is on 4/26), and only 33 of those were apparently for the U.S.
Seriously, Reebok?
And were mass reports of people complaining once the item was in their cart, the website wouldn't allow them proceed to checkout and/or the item disappearing from their cart during checkout.
Also, the shoes were only available in MENS sizes 8-12.
That's right, shoes worn by a woman were recreated in only Men's sizes.
Super Lame, Reebok.
But hey, if you want to buy the shoes, they're going for about $4,000 on eBay.
