SUPER SOLDIER COSTUME NERDERY
Here's a pic of Comic Cap in the costume:
I dig that costume...
so did others, because they made a shirt!
I always thought it was reminiscent of Joe Simon & Jack Kirby's FIGHTING AMERICAN:
Steve Rogers Captain America no longer wears the Super Soldier costume. Instead, NICK FURY JR wears it...
Oh, you didn't know Nick Fury has an adult son? Yeah, they retconned that recently... now, apparently Nick Fury fathered a child decades ago.... his name is Nick Fury Jr. He's half Caucasian, half African-American and looks like Samuel Jackson on steroids. He even has an eye patch! Like Father, Like Son. Maybe the missing eye is now a genetic disorder, forever passed down the Fury bloodline. Maybe one day we'll see a Nikki Fury XXII in a future Guardians of the Galaxy story, by Jim Valentino. So Junior here came out of nowhere and is now leading S.H.I.E.L.D. or some shit. I dunno, honestly I stopped paying attention almost immediately. But I get it - Marvel wants the comics and the movies to be more in sync. What they should have done was just cast someone in the Marvel movies who actually looked like fucking Nick Fury, instead of taking a cue from fucking Bryan Hitch who decided to make the Ultimate Nick Fury a tracing of a Samuel L. Jackson headshot. Then they wouldn't have been in this pickle.
THAT'S Nick Fury.
But whatever. Nerd rage. Atleast the uniform is still in play.
I would have preferred the Super Soldier costume to have been used instead on BUCKY after he stopped being "Bucky Cap" when he was running around doing pretty much nothing. Sigh, such a wasted opportunity. Seriously, what did Bucky Cap DO?? Zero impact on the Marvel Universe. At one point, I thought he was going to appear during 'Secret Invasion', turn the tide, and save the day. "Yay New Captain America!! You've earned the honor of the title!" Nope.
Hmmm, how about Bucky becomes the New Captain America (aka "Bucky Cap")... then Steve returns and reclaims the mantle, so Bucky dons the Super Soldier costume... maybe becomes the new USAgent or something. Shrug. For giggles, here's Bucky in the Super Soldier costume:
The End.

THE RIGHT TO FIGHT
The Pentagon is removing the U.S. Military's ban on women serving in combat, which opens hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs. Above is a screen grab of the Huffington Post's article, which sports Ripley in 'ALIENS' - so I had to share.
(a few minutes later, the pic was of Sarah Connor from 'T2')

JAPANESE COVER ART: NEW JEDI ORDER
Check out these sweet JAPANESE book covers for the Star Wars: New Jedi Order book series!
via TheForce.Net:
The books are often split in two parts, due to the size required by Japanese ideograms. That's why there is a line in the middle of each "cover", in fact it's a scan of two books set one next to the other to form the full drawing.
The artist who drew those NJO covers is named Tsuyoshi Nagano.
For the record, Dark Tide 1 : Onslaught was called simply Dark Tide in Japan, and Dark Tide 2 : Ruin was called Invasion of Ithor. Star by Star being quite a large book, it required to be split in two parts (which individually consist of two parts each), which are called Star by Star: Predator and Star by Star: Fallen.
