THE MULTIVERSITY: PAX AMERICANA #1
THE MULTIVERSITY: PAX AMERICANA #1 was a joyful comic book reading experience.
STORY: Imagine Grant Morrison, Alan Moore and Mark Millar having a threesome; "3 Guys, 1 Comic". Hmm, maybe not the best example, haha... or is it perfect?
ART: The main appeal is the art. Frank Quitely is doing breathtaking work, with fluid sequential storytelling and clever "8"-compositions, relevant to the story and theme(s) - quite possibly his best work to date??
USAGI YOJIMBO: SENSO
I need to pick up this mini-series!
USAGI YOJIMBO: SENSO
Stan is working on a 6-issue UY mini-series inspired by H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. This story is about a small expeditionary party of three ships that the Martians sent to earth in 1628--more than two centuries before their big invasion. Usagi has joined the Geishu clan by this time, and Lord Noriyuki has grown into a fine, capable lord. Lord Hikiji has made his move to overthrow the shogunate, and the county is driven into another civil war. It is during the great battle between the Geishu samurai and Hikiji's forces that the first of the Martian ships crashes into the middle of the field. Stan has some nice images in mind--a huge tripod behind a Japanese castle, Edo being razed, armored samurai attacking a martian ship, and the Neko Ninja (again led by Chizu) infiltrating a tripod. To readers who can't grasp such a wild twist in the pages of UY, Stan says he taken all doubts and concerns into consideration, and the story will fit into Usagi continuity and Japanese history.

2 ALIEN/S PRINTS
I haven't quite decided if I like this Mark Daniels enlistment poster enough to buy....
I also saw this sweet 'THE ALIEN' by Tim Anderson:
...but then I realized the astronaut is standing in front of a life-size action figure, and that's all I see now. Damnit.
I *think* its this Neca figure (not the picture), but not entirely sure:
If you love either, you can buy them HERE
* part of me wants to get both, and have them framed next to one another

HERO OF THE DAY: MARC CAWIEZEL
I searched and searched for the Walgreens Exclusive WHITE BOBA FETT figure (Black Series) but to no avail. After I whined about it on facebook, Marc Cawiezel stepped up and became my hero - he found one and mailed it me which arrived last night!
THANK YOU, MARC!!!!!
Bonus: In one of his emails, Marc shared:
"Thought you might get a kick out of knowing that I voted [Tuesday] and I didn't like the person up for re-election for a Judge so my write in candidate was JUDGE DREDD."
hahahaha, awesome!

Yay! I might have to pick this up. I already have the cd, which Stan Bush signed for me (giggle). I used to have my old cassette tape from its initial 1986 release. It was a birthday gift. Then in college, my friend borrowed it, kept it far too long, and then his car ate it. Thanks again, Brent (will never forget)

TERMINATOR FECYS
via i09, The new Entertainment Weekly reveals some plot synopsis in the upcoming TERMINATOR reboot (sigh) called "Terminator Genisys" (sigh) *SPOILERS*
Sarah Connor isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by Schwarzenegger's Terminator—an older T-800 she calls "Pops"—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who's great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.
"I now know why you cry."

COOL SPIDEY
HELLO KITTY CON 2014
This weekend we attended the first annual HELLO KITTY CONVENTION and EXHIBIT (at the Japanese-American Museum) in Little Tokyo (Los Angeles, CA). It was crazy to say the least! Here are some pics:
Crowds!
10+ feet tall statue of amazing!
Dude, they make Hello Kitty motor oil!
My daughter's future wedding dress, apparently.
The bathrooms had Hello Kitty liquid soap and TOILET PAPER!
They were having a hard time with the TP stock because people were stealing the rolls!
Lots of Hello Kitty Photo Op places (too many if you ask me)
Lots of fun costumes by all ages!
Yay Hello Kitty KISS figurines
Ha, some kid drew this in the kids' drawing area
Crossover!
Tattoo artists on-site: small Hello Kitty tattoos were FREE!
Hello Kitty treats!
Stage shows!
and so much more!!!!
(but I'm too lazy to post anymore)
If I see Hello Kitty imagery again, I will no doubt break out in hives. Cute, adorable hives.
If you weren't able to attend due to the con selling out super fast, have no fear! You can still go next door to the Japanese-American Museum where they are having a Hello Kitty Exhibit which honestly was more fun than the con. There's some really nifty history tidbits and tons of fun products on display, spanning Hello Kitty's 40 years (she turned 40 this past Saturday). So definitely head down to Little Tokyo and visit the Japanese-American Museum's 'Hello Kitty' exhibit, which runs to April 26, 2015.
* There's also the nice exhibit on the Japanese Americans' Internment during WWII.
