RIP SHARON SAKAI

Sharon Sakai, wife of Usagi Yojiimbo artist Stan Sakai, passed away yesterday morning after a long battle with a brain tumor.

Sharon passed away at 9:00 this morning. She died exactly the way she wanted to–at home, surrounded by her family. Matthew flew home from up north, where he is going to school, yesterday.Thank you all so much for your love, prayers and support.

My deepest condolences to the Sakai Family. I had the good fortune to briefly meet and chat with Ms. Sakai several years ago at SDCC. She was incredibly sweet and made me smile & feel happy. The World seems less joyful now.
