NOVA & STARLORD STATUES

In 2006, Marvel changed NOVA from an embarrassing chump (my opinion) to kickass dude! First order of business was changing the costume; I love the new/current costume and have been following the character since. Bowen Designs even made rad statue and man, I wantie! I envision him standing on my slowly-growing "COSMIC SHELF" next to my THANOS and CAPTAIN MARVEL (70s) statues.
And check out this awesome cover with the new STARLORD:
Similar to Nova's recent makeover, Marvel made STARLORD a sweet looking character as well! He's now leader of the new GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. I'd love for for Bowen to make a Starlord statue, too.
I wouldn't necessarily want statues of all the Guardians/Galaxy folk.... although there is a small part of me that gleefully imagines a ROCKET RACOON & GROOT Uber-Statue!

I would like star lord better if he wasn't a Manga Rip off,....seriously getting tired of the limited imagination of these artists......

He's not a manga ripoff. Unless you know something I don't. Which manga is he rippling off? If anything, the new design draws from old German military gear.

You're both right: that design (link) is of German military influence. The story is set in an alternate timeline where Germany occupied Japan post-WWII. The design is a blend of German military and ancient & modern Japanese military/police designs (like Darth Vader's design origins).

l too like the new Starlird design, Jim. It's a nice blend of old, new & cultural blending; a good fit for the character's current role in the comics.

I wasn't trying to be a douche.
My point is that I grow tired of the lack of imagination, and creativity amongst today's writer's and artist. It's Great if someone uses images/artist's/stories to INFLUENCE your own craft. But the blatant swiping/copying/borrowing ( how ever you want to view it ) of images, characters, and stories, is just poor, and in my opinion, sophomoric, and amateurish.
- The current Thanos and Cosmic stuff is a great example. While the IDEA, and story lines are great. the execution just falls short.Take the case of dimensional tear.,..I love H.P. Lovecraft, I played Call of Cthulhu, I get it,..it's great stuff, But to Blatantly incorporate it into the MU ( look, names, dialogue .... ) and current story line isn't cleaver. It isn't creative,...your not impressing anyone with you 'brilliant' ideas. Your just being a fan boy writing for other fan boys under the guise of innovative writing. If you grew up on these things, and they had a heavy hand in influencing you,..that's awesome. Now go build on that with something original of your own. That's not what this is. it's just pulling facets of your youth/college and pasting them over stories and, saying,.."see how cool this stuff is!"
We had/have Drax as Riddick, Gamora ( the woman raised by Thanos to be the deadliest assassin in the galaxy) acting like a sorority girl from a WB episode,Annihilus' Throne room looks JUST like the Emperor's throne room, Cosmic beings talking and acting like their 16....the "evil" captain Marv-ell has a pentagram instead of a Star,( "see it's an EVIL star..") Taking awesome, unique god-like characters and making alter-gender, and 'Bigger and Badder' versions ( i'm talking about Galactus here) even tho there's never in the history of the MU been a reference or hint of such beings ( wouldn't you think the Watcher would have mentioned this when he talks about the origin's of the big Guy????) there's just no substance or creative thinking to them anymore.
-but it's quick and easy and moves books, so it will never go away now.

-rant done, thanks for tolerating.

I agree there is a lack of original ideas in Current Marvel, especially the recent Cosmic stuff; at times it reads as young, slightly uneducated, fan fiction. I miss the outside-the-box wonder of the intelligent & psychedelic imagination of Jim Starlin's Cosmic Marvel stuff from the 70s.

But I disagree that Starlord's new costume is a ripoff of that manga. Similarities, yes. But they ate both pulling from the same sources of inspiration.

And I think it looks awesome. Stop crapping on my post, maannn!!!

tbh i tink they have mentioned the other being along with galactus along time before this. They were born after galactus but during the same time making them relative aswell as enemy. also many of them there were there are actually celestials. only the female one and the black on standing next to galactus are what i just mentioned

Yes, but wasn't it first mentioned in the 'Annhilation' storyline? That's the problem - they retconned Galactus' orgin: He's always been the SOLE SURVIVOR of the previous Universe. It's what makes him so special.
