i got love for ya, Jim, but FUCK Star Trek. that has got to be the cheesiest, longest, crappiest sci-fi story to never die in the history of stories. to say that lame-ass TIME TRAVEL (the recent Star Trek) is more of a "plot" than alien robots who transform & fight (Transformers 2) is nothing but a laugh & further proof of how completely unfuckable Trekkie fruits are. that movie SUCKED and was easily the most overrated film of the year. good, new cast WASTED on being "50 yr old line-recyclers", and "old Spock" was the biggest waste of a cameo ever.

sorry, buddy; got love for ya, like i said, but can't help but bust Trekkie dweebs' tiny, untouched, undropped balls. lol

I'm more a "Purist" Trek fan.... and tend to enjoy ST for different reasons than "traditional Trekkies".

The original series was groundbreaking & awesome in it's own, fun ways. And I love the first two movies (and even enjoy the fourth).

I'm not a huge fan of post-Original Star Trek... some of Next Gen was ok... but I found DS9, Voyager, & Enterprise unwatchable. And JJ's Reboot was too flawed & lacked the level of intelligence  that is Star Trek for me to jump onboard. But they do not change those originals I dig.

Like many franchises, they go sour. I think it's unfair to make a broad generalization that ALL Star Trek sucks.

Star Wars is great, but you also have the horrible Prequels, and Droid & Ewok cartoons. Would you say The Godfather sucks because the 3rd outing was bad?  Does ALIEN suck because of Alien3, Resurrection, or the shitty AVP shitfests? Do Terminator, Predator or any other flicks suffer the same judgmental fate due to their sequels?

We all have diffrent tastes, so I have no problem with you disliking Star Trek... but I DO like Star Trek & make no apologies.
