WENT AND SAW MOTORHEAD LAST NIGHT AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES. IT WAS AWESOME!!! THEY CAME OUT HARD, FAST AND FUCKING LOUD!!! MY HEARING IS TOTALLY SHOT THIS MORNING, SO PLEASE EXCUSE ME IF I'M TALKING LOUD. MOTORHEAD IS CELEBRATING THEIR 31ST YEAR AS A BAND AND LEMMY HIMSELF IS FREAKING 60 YRS OLD. I HAVE TO SAY, LEMMY IS ONE OF THOSE DUDES WHO JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER WITH AGE. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SHOW INCLUDE A GREAT RAMONES COVER, IRON MAIDEN'S "KILLERS", A CHICK GETTING THROWN OUT OF THE PIT FOR BITING 3 DIFFERENT GUYS IN THE SHOULDER (BLOOD SPEW!), AND A KICKASS ENCORE 
WITH "ACE OF SPADES" AND "OVERKILL". TODAY I'M DEAF, EXCEPT FOR THE CONSTANT RINGING IN MY EARS; EEEEEEEEEEEE...... AND MY NECK IS SORE FROM HEADBANGING. MOTORHEAD PUT ON A GREAT SHOW AND WHAT BETTER PLACE THAN A SMALL VENUE LIKE THE HOUSE OF BLUES?! RAWK!!!!! \m/

I guess that wearing the little foam ear plugs would have helped...
they cut out distortion so you hear more detail and have less damage...plus at some shows they might think you're "from the industry" when you have them in.... not in LA. though...everyone is from the indi out there!
actually, everyone did have earplugs (they were made easily available). so there was no distortion and they sounded crisp and awesome! but they were still loud and the venue is very small, so you're right in front of them regardless of where you stood.
now, I wish I had earplugs back in 89 when I saw Suicidal Tendancies. 3rd row. Left ear has never fully recovered, unfortunately.
motorhead is the shit. you could be in a nuclear bunker 10miles away and your ears would still be hurting the next day, so don't feel bad Jim. I've seen them several times and yes, they put on one helluva show!
