Sorry for the delay... but you know it always takes me a week or so to do quick report on the San Diego Comic Con. Anyway, this year was fun... and FUCKING CROWDED... I went down for just Saturday and Sunday....
I picked up the Ralph McQuarrie SNOWTROOPER bust, which is super sweet. But unfortunately did not get the Con-Exclusive STARSCREAM GIJoe Striker repaint. I'll spare you the bullshit sob story. But it was the primary reason for going down there this year. I'm pissed & sad. I also picked up a copy of GREEN LANTERN #85 (Speedy's a junkie issue!) and had NEAL ADAMS do a personalized autograph. I met WALT SIMONSON... he signed my Beta Ray Bill issues of THOR as well as the Archangel issues of X-FACTOR. We also briefly geeked out together about his brief 2-issue HAWKMAN run a few years back, which was fun! Rode an elevator with STAN LEE. I also bought the hardcover edition of ALIENS: BOOK ONE, and then a few other misc trades at 50% off. 2 super cool people stopped me to say 'hello' after seeing my 'JIMSMASH!' t-shirt - that was fun (and embarrassing). Partied briefly in the Gaslight District - slight chance I might be on an episode of SyFy's 'FACE OFF'. . oh, my buddy bought Lee/Kirby's FANTASTIC FOUR #2!
That's about it, really... I wasn't really on the hunt for anything hardcore like usual, so I "took it easy" this year and enjoyed the overall experience with some great friends. As I mentioned above, it was ridiculously crowded - the worst I've ever experienced at SDCC. I felt like I had been in a mosh pit for 2 days. The insane crowding really hindered a lot of the potential fun to be had. I may not go again next year, simply due to the crowds. That and the product selection kind of sucked... limited, scarce diversity and over-priced items. But who knows, we'll see next year. Oh, and the zombies roaming the streets were annoying.

JIMSMASH COMIC CON COVERAGE ? - UPDATED
UPDATE: Hey, so apologies for not posting pics this weekend - there was a snafu of communication & no laptops were brought on the trip. Oops! But honestly, I was out partying all night so uploading pics saturday night wasn't going to happen anyway. Once I gather pics from a few friends, I'll put em all together for one big post. Please stand by....
----------
I'm heading to the San Diego Comic Con tomorrow (Saturday 7/22) and staying through Sunday. I'll try and post a bunch of pics Saturday night sometime. So check back here late Saturday... or when you wake up Sunday. Also, I may upload the occasional pic on Facebook. Later!

AQUAMAN VS MER-MAN ! !
Another fantastical Versus figure set! But here's the thing... I hate the BLUE Mer-Man... look at the artwork - if Mer-Man was in his normal Green & Yellow color scheme, he'd look awesome next to Aquaman! Why the change, Toy Makers? WHY???

DOG ALIEN STATUE
I'm not a fan of the DOG ALIEN from Alien3, but I felt inclined to post this anyway. Check out the exclusive version which comes with the Queen Facehugger, which was thankfully cut from the Theatrical Version.

TERMINATOR & ALIENS SCREENING - UPDATED
UPDATE: The 'Aliens' print was brand spanking new - made just for this weekend's screenings. It was GORGEOUS! I've never seen 'Aliens' look better! It was so pretty, I might have shed a tear... but I'll never tell.
---------
Aww, yeh! I'm heading out to the NEW BEVERLY to see the 'TERMINATOR/ALIENS' double-feature supreme!
I'd go to tomorrow's screening which has several 'Aliens' actors present for Q&A, but that stupid restraining order is still in effect. The American Judicial System is a crock, man.

OLD MAN LOGAN STATUE
Here's an OLD MAN LOGAN statue, based on Mark Millar's meh story a few years back. Ah crap... I've made an opinionated statement about a Millar story. Let the hate mail begin!
CARMAGEDDON - 36 RAD VEHICLES
In honor of CARMAGEDDON this weekend in Los Angeles, here are 36 totally rad vehicles from Pop Culture. I jammed them all together into a single image to save space... and avoid arguments of their listed order. I also capped it at 36 because I got other shit to do. But feel free to continue listing other great vehicles with wheels.
First person to name them all gets a hug!
*thank you Ian & Kama for the assist!

CEREMONIAL PREDATOR MASK
This is the "CEREMONIAL PREDATOR MASK" by Sideshow ($324).
I really dig this... the Alien Queen 'Crown' element is a nice touch. This could go into the AVP movie I watch in my head.... you know, the one set on a Predator ship with no humans, no talking or subtitles (just killer sound), Giger Aliens and directed by Ridley Scott.
This Ceremonial Predator Mask also reminds of that badass Red Predator by Joe Dunaway (posted back in 2007 ):
