As soon as I scrolled down and saw the base, I too was bitterly disappointed.
The second pic looks like Jabba or maybe the Chet-beast from Weird science
The AvP version is bad but it's not AS bad as the Alien 4 version. The eggs in that movie, along with everything else, looked horrible.
