RANDOM FIND - ROSIE HULK

Ah, the Internet. What did we do for entertainment before you arrived into our hearts and homes?

VILLAIN OF THE DAY: GORN CAPTAIN !

Today's "Villain of the Day" is the
GORN CAPTAIN!

Captain’s log, stardate 3046.2.

* "This is Captain James Kirk of the Starship Enterprise. Whoever finds this, please get it to Starfleet Command. The Enterprise is dead in space, stopped cold during her pursuit of an alien raider by mysterious forces… and I have been somehow whisked off the bridge and placed on the surface of an asteroid, facing the captain of the alien ship. Undoubtedly, a dangerously clever opponent. I'm engaged in personal combat, weaponless, with a creature apparently called a Gorn....."

* "....Large, reptilian, like most humans, I seem to have an instinctive revulsion to reptiles. I must fight to remember that this is an intelligent, highly advanced individual, the captain of a starship like myself. He's immensely strong. Already, he has withstood attacks from me that would have killed a human being. Fortunately, though strong, he is not agile. The agility and I hope the cleverness, is mine....."

* "....The surface of the planet....there's very little here - scrub brush, rocks, an abundance of mineral deposits, but no weapons in the conventional sense. Still, I need to find one, bare-handed against the Gorn, I have no chance......"

* "....This may be my last entry. I am almost exhausted. Unless I find a weapon.... I have very little time left...."

Watch the battle in the awesome, classic episode "THE ARENA"!!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To the best of my limited Trekkie knowledge, the Gorn have only appeared TWICE in the history of Star Trek; Once in the original CLASSIC episode "The Arena", and once again as a crappy CG version in an episode of Enterprise, where the Gorn had crappy Raptor legs - come on!!!

The Gorn language, Gornouf, is a combination of guttural sounds and hissing, and some words have no vowels in them at all. A good example is the Gorn Republic's creed, "FOKHSS IP'KAKAROO OIIAASS'YU." This means "Fight the weak."
The Gorn's new word for "Fear" ?
"James T. Kirk", biotch.

TOP FAV X-MEN CHARACTERS

On a Comic Messageboard, someone presented the question of what your Top 6 Favorite X-Men Characters are. Wow, tough choices!!! So, instead of thinking long and hard about it, I thought I'd post the first 6 that came to my head. Here they are:
*ARCHANGEL - In Apocalypse's Horseman costume; great costume! Loved the metal wings with poison-tipped "feather darts"! Blue skin....shaved head....finally, Warren was a character I liked and wasn't "useless." One of the few exceptions of turning a character darker that I loved! I wish he was back that way (he's now back to his original non-blue skin and feather wings).

*MAGNETO - Such a tragic character! Great design! Just everything about him I love!

*STORM - Either the Cockrum/Byrne era Storm, or the Mohawked version! Once she became "Jim Lee Glam" and onward, I stopped liking her. But man, back then - she was amazing!!!

*COLOSSUS - Big ATHLETIC Russian who turns his skin into Organic Steel? Hell yeah! His character was very interesting; complex yet very simple at the same time. Love that he's back.

*ICEMAN - I feel he's rarely (if ever) handled properly. But I love his powers and SIMPLISTIC streamlined look - like ICE! He kicked ass during Simonson's X-Factor series - remember when he had that belt and his powers were out of control?!!

*WOLVERINE - Back in the day...Byrne X-Men days up even through the Jim Lee days. Before he became W
AAAAY overexposed. Back when he was still mysterious and in the background. When he still had his berserker rage and the inner struggle to control it. The Ronin Samurai. The Brown & Orange costume. Man, back then, Wolverine was cooler than cool. Now....he's so overexposed, I hate seeing him.

Fellow comic nerds - what are YOUR favorite 6 X-Men characters?
and WHY?

BOB DYLAN: THE MOVIE

Well, I suppose it was inevitable.... they are now making a movie about BOB DYLAN. Seven different actors will portray the Living Legend, each one marking a time in his life. Actors so far lined up: Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Charlotte Gainsburg and Julianne Moore. Yes, you read correctly - Blanchet, Gainsburg and Moore will play Bob Dylan. Heath Ledger is the newest addition as he stepped in during the 11th hour to replace Colin Ferrell. Jesus Christ, what is wrong with these people??!!!! Is this a tribute movie or a hate movie?

ONE - the casting across the board is ABYSSMALLY ATROCIOUS! Perhaps Christain Bale could do it, but the others?
ARGH! JIM SMASH!!!

TWO - DON'T make a movie about Bob Dylan, you chode monkeys!! Just watch the documentaries "No Direction Home" or "Don't Look Back". Or better yet, go see him in concert! He still tours and is magnificent!!

GHOST RIDER TRAILER

Just saw the trailer for
Ghost Rider.

Ya know, the comic was never that great. It's one of those books with a great premise, great imagery and great potential but almost always falls flat. Well, why should the movie version be any different? I'll check it out. Hopefully it's a FUN movie at best. If it's as good as the DIRECTOR'S CUT of Daredevil (same writer/director), I'd be very pleased. And I hope Ghost Rider and FX in the trailer are still in progress. . . apologies to any of my friends who may have worked/working on it... I'm just sayin'.....

VILLAIN OF THE DAY: THE MAESTRO !

Today's "Villain of the Day" is THE MAESTRO!
(from Hulk: Future Imperfect)

In an alternate future of the Marvel universe, a nuclear war killed most of humanity, including the majority of Earth's superheroes. One of the few survivors was the Hulk, who found that he simply absorbed the radiation, greatly increasing his strength. The Hulk declared himself "the Maestro" and set out to conquer the remaining world, along with his cousin, the She-Hulk (now calling herself "Shulk") and the Abomination. The latter two eventually betrayed him; the Abombination was exiled, and Shulk was imprisoned in the Maestro's castle.

Maestro, a brutal tyrant, rules all living beings that inhabit Dystopia, a jade city of his own design protected by radiation shielding. In the city, high-tech and brutal soldiers keep the "peace" and impose the Maestro's will. If you are lucky, the Maestro will take one of your daughters to become a member of his Herim. Sure, she probably won't last long (who would?!!), but atleast your Village shall not go starving that season and know some sort of peace.....most likely.

Physically the Maestro is an older version of the Hulk and retains all the smarts from Mr. Banner himself. He possesses even greater physical abilities than his present-day counterpart, and is not hampered by any moral or ethical considerations. The Maestro's body absorbed the radiation left over in Earth's atmosphere and the base level of his strength has been increased to a level far surpassing that of the present-day Hulk. The Incredible Hulk, however, appears to still be able to achieve greater rage than the Maestro.

NEW ALIENS GAME ! !

WizKidz makes these neat little games called HeroClix and MechWarrior. Click here to read about the games, I 'm too lazy to write about em. Anyway, they are branching out into Horror films and one of their new upcoming games is going to be ALIENS!! Needless to say, I'm buying them all!!!

The Aliens set contains seven combat-ready creatures and debuts this December, and it is available first and at a discount to "Buy it by the Brick" customers who purchase HorrorClix at their local hobby-game retail stores. A "ClixBrick" is 12 shrink-wrapped, four-figure Booster Packs. Each set will include a special map detailing locations from the movies. As Hudson so eloquently stated, "Fuckin' A!!"

A Predator set will debut in early 2007.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Pic posted is NOT from the game. It is of the sweet sweet Alien Queen bust that is $999 that I want you all to buy me.

ANOTHER SUPERMAN RETURNS TRAILER

Click here to see a new Superman Returns trailer.

Looks like fun - some neat moments.
However, I must always state my negative opinions on this film (heh):

Everyone (except Lex) is WAY too freaking young. If this was "Year One" or "Superman Begins", then ok. But no, it's 5 years AFTER Superman II. So they look WAY too freaking young. Brandon Routh in 5-7 years would be perfect for a SuperMAN, but right now he's SuperBOY. The movie looks like it would be a great extension off of Smallville....not off of Superman II. Bah!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(oh, and the Superbaby is lame...however, wasn't it conceived in Superman 2 when Clark gave up his powers? If so, then it wouldn't have any powers...???).

NEW HARRYHAUSEN

Awesome! Ray Harryhausen is currently developing a series of new movies, telefilms, videogames and mechandising under the "Ray Harryhausen Presents" banner!!! The projects will be based on unproduced material by Harryhausen. I can't wait to hear and see more about these!

VILLAIN OF THE DAY: SCORPIUS !

Today's "Villain of the Day" is SCORPIUS!
(from Farscape)

Scorpius is a half-Scarran/half-Sebacean leader of the Peacekeeper forces, with a killer looking freaky costume! His unique heritage gives him the ability to see different light/heat spectrums than most humanoids, enabling him to distinguish a species unique energy signature on sight. This allows Scorpius to not only determine a subject's race, but even tell when someone is lying. Scorpius has a highly-trained mind, enabling him to resist torture and the Scarran heat-based mind probes.

Since he is a Sebacean/Scarran hybrid, he at once suffers from the Sebacean inability to regulate body temperature under extreme heat and the higher body temperatures imposed by his Scarran heritage. This makes for an unhealthy combination, one that Scorpius compensates for through the use of sophisticated equipment built into his heat dissipating costume. This even includes an automated coolant rod device imbedded deep inside his skull and, presumably, his brain. The rods have a limited life span and must be replaced sporadically depending on Scorpius' activity level. They may overheat quickly if he overexerts himself for too long a time. If Scorpius body temperature rises too high, the coolant rod will be automatically ejected from his skull for replacement. He usually needs help from others to accomplish this.

He prides himself on his patience and his intellect. Scorpius is a character willing to do absolutely anything to achieve his goals, which he is very honest about when it suits him. He will lie, kill in cold blood, order the deaths of multitudes, torture innocents, and sacrifice those close to him in order to get what he wants. He is also willing to aid his enemies or humiliate himself if it will further his goals. He has returned from supposedly fatal situations more than once, which he credits to his "foresight and preparation." He manipulates others to do his work but does much on his own. He is highly educated, very intelligent, and extremely clever. He systematically took power from Captain Crais through use of his Aurora Chair, a device which allows him to see into the memories of others. These skills allowed him to quickly rise through the ranks and ultimately take over control a large portion of the Peacekeeper's Fleet. Only he knows how deep his schemes run, and, while he claims his main desire is to eliminate the Scarran threat, you would be well advised to loathe to ever trust him.

"I've never understood the need of some warriors to memorialize their conquests. Does displaying this decaying flesh remind you of past instances when you were powerful?"

PLUS, Scorpius is played by the talented Wayne Pygram, who also played a younger Governor Tarkin in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Brilliant casting!!!!

Thank you, Melchy - for the Tarkin reminder and reprimand!
