WRONG ALIEN AND SWIPED ARTWORK

The above image is part of Gallery 1988's exhibit "Crazy4Cult 9", which opened tonight in Los Angeles. Its a fun reference to the classic promo photo of Sigourney Weaver holding Jones.

Its a classic, common referenced image amongst the Fan Art community...

The print in 'Crazy4Cult 9" also uses elements from the eggs seen in 'Alien: Resurrection' - the oval, bulbous shapes around the side. In 'Alien', the eggs are relatively smooth all around. I'm not quite sure why the artist decided to incorporate 'Alien: Resurrection' designs into a poster that's homaging 'Alien'...

However, what this post is really about is that the print SWIPES artwork from another artist, MARKUS PANSEGRAU (aka LOCUSTA).

*You may have seen his artwork through the recently published book, "Alien: The Weyland-Yutani Report"

Here is Markus' 3D model and render of the Alien Egg:

Here is a side-by-side comparison:

Left: Markus' Egg
Right: The top print's egg pedals over layed Markus' rendering.
It lines up PERFECTLY.

Photo Referencing or Tracing is one thing.
But swiping another artist's work is uncool.
