DARK KNIGHT RETURNS STATUE

Check out this badass ARTFX statue by Kotobukiya! I love the old, thick "war horse" Batman from DKR.

------------------
FYI, I have this statue:
Picked it up in the '90s for 1/2-off at my college-comic bookstore!

I removed Robin once, so I would just have the Batman as a statue.
Funny thing - it didn't look great.... not as dynamic....
you could tell something was missing.

But check out this one....
this dude removed Robin & then painted the Batman:
Awesome.
I think I'm going to follow suit...

HAN IN CARBONITE iPHONE CASE

It's already sold... I wonder if they'll make more?!

MARK WAID IS SELLING HIS ENTIRE COMIC COLLECTION

Comic writer MARK WAID is selling off his entire Comic Book Collection, which consists of 150 long boxes! I can understand the need to do a major culling, but to not even keep ONE short box... or ONE issue... is incomprehensible. Madness I say! I hope he doesn't regret it....

Check out these clips, where Waid briefly talks about classic issues as they are handed to him:

SCORE: MARVEL UNIVERSE HANDBOOK TRADES

Yay! I was at a used bookstore recently and they had 9 of the 10 out-of-print OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE Trades! These color reprint the badass "mini-series" from 1985-1988. While I do have the original issues... um, and the black-&-white Essentials... I've always wanted these trade paperbacks. Usually when I'd stumble upon them, they'd be marked up to $30-40.... I got them for $2 each! I then picked up the missing volume online for $6. Score!

For any Marvel Fan... or anyone interested/curious about any Marvel Character(s)... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND picking up this series... its the best "encycolopedia" that Marvel has put out, hands down. Its written with imagination, intelligence and education... which is lacking in recent editions.

Either pick up the original back issues (which should be relatively cheap), or grab the Black & White ESSENTIALS editions:

1) Volume 1 of original 1983 series (you don't NEED, but its good to have)
2) Volume 1 (1985-88 series)
3) Volume 2 (1985-88 series)
4) Volume 3: Book of the Dead (1985-88 series)
5) Update '89 series.

Ask your Local Comic Bookstore to get your copies today!

Or ask these fine folks (and tell them JimSmash sent you!):

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY

Last night Mrs Smash put up St Patrick's Day decorations. Well apparently during the night, Kitty decided to eat some of the paper decorations. How do I know this? The green vomit on the floor I found this morning clued me in.

HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY!

ELDER PREDATOR STATUE

I always liked the ELDER PREDATOR from 'Predator 2'. This is a nice statue, but I'm not loving the pose... I think its the right arm. I would have preferred a sculpt depicting this stance:
Nice that they included the Alien Skull... although the Xenomorphs have EXOskeletons... what you see IS their "skeleton". I'd prefer it to simply be an Alien head, maybe "fossilized" or something, to give it that aged look.

Updated: Giger's Alien had the skull underneath the head dome. So in that regard, there would be a skull like in this statue. However, the skull in the picture does not have the eyesockets present in Giger's version, which leaves me to believe this is the Cameron/Winston xenomorph from 'Aliens', which was exoskeleton based. I'll go with "the Predator bleached the Cameron/Winston Alien head". Thanks to Anonymous for pointing out the issue. Hope this clarifies my nerd complaint.

You can buy this statue HERE.

BOLDLY GONE

"BOLDLY GONE" is a fun, fanmade webcomic by Kevin Church & Ming Doyle, which follows the frustrating adventures of CAPTAIN PAUL MERIDTH of the MANDELA. Set in the same timeframe as the Original Series, poor Cpt Meridith is always being mistaken for/compared to Captain James T. Kirk.... and it wears on the poor fella....
