* don't let unfortunate mis-cultural-translation of their name turn you off from checking out this band. Initially, they were a blend of J-Pop and Death Metal, which kicked ass. As the girls grew older, their sound evolved into a great sound that transcends the initial "gimmick". Also, their live show is one of the absolute best I've had the pleasure of witnessing!

BABYMETAL: THE ANIMATED SERIES

Warner Bros.’ digital studio Blue Ribbon Content and Amuse USA have announced a newBabymetal web series that will feature a blend of animation and live-action. Essentially, the girls will be playing themselves as they travel (via a portal, of course) back and forth from the animated realm that embodies the magic of heavy metal itself. In this incarnation, Moametal, Su-metal, and Yuimetal are a “warrior band” who have been called together by the god, Kitsune, to defend heavy metal from dark forces.

Key Kobayashi, the creator and manager of Babymetal, is also on board this project as an executive producer. The web series appears to be in a very early stage of development, and there is currently no firm release date for the show.

Last Sunday, I attended the
Los Angeles Comic Book and Sci-Fi Convention.

I met Michael Biehn (Hicks), Mark Rolston (Drake), Ricco Ross (Frost) and Lance Henriksen (Bishop)...

Lance Henriksen signed my Bishop figure:

He was super cool and very friendly to my family.

As was Drake - a gentleman's gentleman. 

All class, that guy! 

I had the Marines sign a close, personal friend of mine,

my replica Pulse Rifle:

Jennette Goldstein (Vasquez) was scheduled to attend but cancelled. 

I was going to have her sign the front. 

One day.....

Carrie Henn (Newt) was also there, but I already acquired her autograph years back when I recognized her in the audience of an 'Aliens' screening in LA

There were several Aliens and Marines cosplayers at the con...

But the little girl dressed as the alien queen stole the show!
