CUSTOM OPTIMUS PRIME & PACKAGING

JimSmash Reader LOUIS BERNAL made another badass custom Transformer with packaging: OPTIMUS PRIME!

He posts:
The new Generations Autobot Scoop figure reminds me so much of the very awesome and very classic Transformers Armada "Bendy" Optimus Prime figure. I decided to customize Autobot Scoop so that it would resemble Optimus Prime.

Besides repainting the figure, I made a few physical changes to the toy. I removed the wheels. I trimmed off excess plastic on the lower legs. I reversed the upper arms and added smoke stacks.

For the weapons, I used Generations Orion Pax's blaster gun. The sword was taken from the 3rd party Junkion Blacksmith "Infinity Warfare" set. The shield was custom made from a wing panel from Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave.

The figure was painted with Model Master lacquer and Testors enamel. The figure was not clear coated.

I custom designed the package and drew the Optimus Prime artwork. I thought it would be fun to give it a "classic" look in celebration of the "Thrilling 30" theme.

Thank you for checking this out. I hope you like it.

NEVERENDING STORY EASTER EGGS

So apparently there are some guest stars (sans contact shadows) in THE NEVERENDING STORY:

Yoda, Gumby, Chewbacca, Mickey Mouse, E.T., C-3PO and a couple Ewoks.

I'll have to rewatch it to confirm for myself...

FAIR IS FAIR: FLORIDA SATANIC CHURCH IS NOW PASSING OUT CHILDREN'S COLORING BOOKS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

In related news to last weeks' post of the SATANIC MONUMENT for Oklahoma's Statehouse...

Behold, the "The Satanic Children’s Big Book of Activities," a coloring book that is being disseminated across Orange County public schools, according to Raw Story.

Last month a Christian group received permission to distribute Bibles and other religious materials to their students, leading atheist groups to appeal for an equal opportunity. It wasn't long before the Satanic community hopped on board as well.

"If a public school board is going to allow religious pamphlets and full Bibles to be distributed to students -- as is the case in Orange County, Florida -- we think the responsible thing to do is to ensure that these students are given access to a variety of differing religious opinions, as opposed to standing idly by while one religious voice dominates the discourse and delivers propaganda to youth," the Satanic Temple’s spokesperson, Lucien Greaves, explained in a statement.

"I am quite certain that all of the children in these Florida schools are already aware of the Christian religion and it’s Bible, and this might be the first exposure these children have to the actual practice of Satanism. We think many students will be very curious to see what we offer."

You can purchase the book for $9.95 here.

I'm totally buying one!!!

STAR TREK IN CINERAMA WIDESCREEN

via Nick Acosta on cargocollective:

Star Trek in Cinerama Widescreen

Forty eight years ago this week Star Trek debuted its first episode on NBC. The show, like all other shows at the time, was broadcast in the old style 4x3 aspect ratio. Using HD screen caps from my friends at Trekcore.com, I created this project of what the show would have looked like in Cinerama widescreen. As a kid the show always felt bigger and more epic than it appears to me as an adult. I was able to create these shots by waiting for the camera to pan and then I stitched the separate shots together. The result is pretty epic. It reminds me of the classic science fiction movies of the 50’s and 60’s. Suddenly the show has a “Forbidden Planet” vibe. Other shots remind me of how director Robert Wise would use a camera technique to keep the foreground and background elements in focus.
