September's GREEN LANTERN #23 is sporting a cool cover homage to the previous series' Issue #49 cover. In GL#49, a grief stricken and traumatized Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) fights his way through his fellow Lanterns in a power mad quest to bring back his beloved Coast City, which was wiped from the face of the planet by an alien nuke. The cover showed the out-of-his-mind Jordan with other Lanterns' rings! Later, in GL: REBIRTH, it is explained why Jordan went nutso and pretty much absolved him of his crimes. *whew!*. GL:Rebirh is an AWESOME read, too - pick it up!!!The current series has been building up a great storyline in which SINESTRO has been building his OWN Corps of fear-inflicting baddies, all wearing YELLOW rings (Yellow = Fear, a Lantern's only weakness). By issue #23, "THE SINESTRO CORPS WAR" will have begun, but my geeky giddy giggles of glee will have been in motion for months! Geoff Johns, thank you!
