We got that for Christmas. It definitely RAWKS.
I'm tired of most of the songs, though... do you know if they are working on another one?
I went out and bought one right after (without hesitation) the day after I played it at a party. Guitar Hero 2 is coming out this November (I forget the exact date) and will include a red guitar. I can't wait!
GH2 is said to not only have new songs, but the capability to download even more songs. Plus, I heard from a little rockin' mouse that it might include playable bass lines.

GH2 will have tons more tracks.
There will be playable bass lines. Perhaps other lines as well. (Lead & chord guitar)
You will be able to ad-lib some I think.
The two players can play competatively or cooperatively, playing different parts at the same time, not just alternating the same parts.
(Activision owns red octane now. But I think this info is public... :) )
