SPIDEY3 DESIGNS LOOKS LAME
AICN posted the above pics earlier, which are unconfirmed designs for SPIDERMAN 3 the movie and/or video game. Sandman looks ok (classic simply look), but Venom looks like crap. Its nice to see they went with the shitty version Larson and Bagley created based off of McFarlane's perfect original design. I sure do hope Venom looks cooler in the film.....And is that supposed to be fucking Hobgoblin? Yes it is, because that's what he looks like in the trailer. I guess Ski Chalet was having a sale near the Spiderman 3 wardrobe department. Remember the Days when people had imaginations? Jesus, its not that hard with this one - the character design was already done in the 80s by Marvel, chodebreaths! If he's on that flying snowboard with a fucking iPod plugged in, I'm rampaging in the theater. JIMSMASH!

MOVIE REVIEWS: BORAT VERSAILLES
We saw 2 movies this weekend. Here are 2 very quick reviews:
BORAT: Hilarious and I laughed my ass off!!! However, I felt that he relied too much on Shock Humor and downplayed his usual style. I guess he shifted it more towards America's current dumbed-down humor of late. Which is fine, because like I said, I laughed my ass off!! Other 2 complaints were the too-easy jabs at the South (hey, that's fine, but let's see some of the rest of America, too!) and the lame plot element of Pamela Anderson, who I loathe. I kind of wished it was more like his British work, but this film still works and had me in tears. The Hotel Fight was.... you'll just have to see it. But, there's a debate at work over it and how its a terrible movie... by those who haven't seen it. So see at your own risk.
ROYAL AFFAIRS IN VERSAILLES: In Tecnicolor! This 1958 French movie by director Sacha Guitry showcases the history of Versailles through 300 years; Louis XIV-XVI. Funny, whitty and interesting, I was saddened to hear that the film we saw is not available in the U.S.; only on VHS with an hour cut out! But then at the same time stoked that I was able to see the original longer version (2hr 40min). It's broken down into 2 episodes and I personaly enjoyed the first half (Louis XIV) more than the second (Lous XV/XVI)... although TRex enjoyed both halves equally. If you ever have the chance to see it, check it out!

Oh baby!! Taylor recovers and runs it 30 yards from the 26 to the 44!!! Oh baby baby!!! Dallas face masks a Skin and we get a 15yard advance! MAGIC CASTLE
Last night we were extremely fortunate to be invited to the "invite only by member" MAGIC CASTLE, the "clubhouse to the Magical Academy of Magic", which resides in a cool old mansion (1908) complete with hidden chambers, secret hallways and sliding fake bookcases. Next to 1 of the 5 sweet bars in the mansion resides Irma, the piano playing ghost. Simply request a song and she will immediately begin playing it. Creepy! Sounds hokey, but its quite the opposite (I even had to wear a suit and tie to get in, heh!).
We saw 4 acts, the final one being in the "Close-Up Room" which seats 21 people, (so its very intimate) with the incredible Jason Latimer (who got us in...friend of friend's cousin....). He was the 2003 Grand Prix World Champion of Magic and it was the absolute best magic I've ever seen. We were all blown away. In addition to some crazy sick magic that had everyone going "no fucking way!" he did his trick he created which earned him the Grand Prix title where he "took the classical street effect of Cups and Balls to the next level, as he performed the Cups and Balls effect with clear glass cups where audience members can visually witness balls vanish and appear from within an upside down glass." Again, we were in the back row, which was about 7ft away, and it was the craziest shit I've seen!! If you can score an invite to the Magic Castle, I highly recommend going!
