THE CERULEAN

Long-Time JimSmash Reader ALLEN ETTER is making a film entitled "CERULEAN". He posts on the Cerulean blog:

So what is CERULEAN about, you ask? Keeping it simple, the plot revolves around five individuals (mercenaries) who escape from their prison ship and have to get to a rescue ship on a hostile world. Two days into the journey, they have already turned on each other.

The original story was a project I shot back in 1988. We had a super 8mm camera and no budget...not much different from today. The main difference is that in the original LOCK 304 the characters were all scientists and the threat was a ship's engine about to go nuke. The team had to work together to get to safety. The film, however did not work as all of the shots were either long or medium. No close ups. I was naive and working with someone as new as me on the project. In fact, the only close ups were shot when I was behind the camera. So...always loved the idea of racing against time (added pressure to an already tense situation) but now I have characters who are deceitful, backstabbing and murderous. FUN! --Allen Etter

DREAMSCAPE: WILL FERRELL GREEN LANTERN

Last night I dreamt Warner Bros had cast WILL FERRELL as Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern movie.

Then today I saw the above promo pic (sans text) and thought, "Whoa... he looks like Will Ferrell... but I thought it was only a dream..... OR WAS IT?! dum-dum-Dum!"

Now that the XMas Shopping Season is in full-effect, here's a JimSmash Assignment for everyone: This weekend go buy atleast 1 toy and put it in your local TOYS FOR TOTS donation bin. Most Toys R Us stores have them available at the Exit door. It's a good cause and you'll help bring some joy to less fortunate kids this Holiday.

Maaaan, I need to get a 2nd job or rob a bank.... BOWEN will soon be putting out a rad statue of CYCLOPS in his X-FACTOR End-of-Fall-of-the-Mutants costume. I love that costume and that era of X-Factor!!! I really must have this statue. Damnit!!!

And if Bowen continues forward and makes the entire X-Factor Lineup, as seen in X-Factor #26...... and a new ARCHANGEL statue to go with, based on this Walt Simonson drawing:
