The XMas Season is upon us! So its time to start watching Holiday movies! As far as I'm concerned, there're 5 XMas movies everyone should watch each year at this time:1) RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER
(the Rankin-Bass stop-motion classic!)
2) A CHRISTMAS STORY
(personally, I'm done w/this, but TRex still loves it)
3) HOW THE GRINCE STOLE CHRISTMAS
(the classic animated cartoon narrarated by Boris Karlof)
4) THE REF
(love it!)
5) CHRISTMAS VACATION
(my personal fav)
There's only 3 more weekends before XMas, so start renting and watching!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RICK BAKER!
I just saw on Andrew's blog that today is RICK BAKER'S birthday!
As Andrew put it:
the classic Werewolf transformation scene:
As Andrew put it:
Make-up FX genius Rick Baker, 56 years old today. In a career going back to the early 1970's Baker has produced some of the most memorable Make-up FX of his generation. In 1971 he was paid just $1000 to create the suit for Octoman and in 1981 he was the very first recipient of the Oscar for Best Make-Up for An American Werewolf in London when the category was first introduced. So in honor of Rick's birthday, I give you
the classic Werewolf transformation scene:
SMALLVILLE JUSTICE LEAGUE
At the end of last night's Smallville, the CW showed a glimpse of the upcoming episode "Justice" where Clark teams up with other superheroes; ie "the Justice Leauge". Man, just thinking about it makes me giddy!

From L-to-R: Flash, Green Arrow, Clark, Aquaman and Cyborg!

Great Merlin's Beard!! While I was on vacation, the great 80's DUNGEONS & DRAGONS cartoon came out on dvd!!!! When I was kid, this was one of my all-time favorite shows! I've seen many of the episodes recently, and while it doesn't hold up as well (obviously) I still freaking loved it! Uni was still equally annoying as shit, tho.Santa, Jimmy wantie!

PREACHER SHOW INTERVIEW
Here's a snippet from an interview with Mark Steven Johnson who is developing the awesome comic PREACHER into an HBO series. It gives me SOME hope.... haven't seen GHOST RIDER yet (early reviews are good, tho, surprisingly) and his DIRECTOR'S CUT of DAREDEVIL was a huge improvement of the Studio Cut that was put out into theaters..... fingers crossed.... not a huge fan of his work thus far, but it could be worse and in horrible horrible hands (remember a couple years ago when it was going to be a movie with Ben Affleck?!!!)---------------------------------------
MSJ: You can't do it in a movie because it would take so many movies combined to tell the whole story and you can't do it on any network television, just for all the obvious reasons. So it was really HBO or nothing. When I went in to pitch it to them I said "I hope you love this as much as I do because if you don't want to do it it's done." There's nowhere else to go.
[The pitch was] The book. I came in with the comics saying "Here it is." I said "I'm going to try to make it about an issue or so for each show. Some things will move around, some will be bigger than they are and some will have to come down." But basically that was my template. As I've said this is a five, six year show.
Rest of the interview here
KID ARRESTED FOR . . .
I saw this bit of news as I walked into work this morning.... a mother had her son arrested for getting into his Xmas presents early. Way to waste the police force time and resources lady.More here.

TURNER'S RED SONJA STATUE
Any RED SONJA fans out there (Angela!)? Dynamite Entertainment is making a statue based off of Michael Turner's cover to Red Sonja #1. The statue will stand over 13" tall on a 13” x 11.5” giant snake and swamp base. Sculpted and painted by Tom and Joy Snyder of Joy & Tom Studios, the statue will run a whopping $295! Wait, what? 300bucks? Are you fucking kidding me?!! Nevermind.

XMas Season is upon us so here is the classic series of photos of kids being terrified of the Mall Santa! Enjoy!!
GREG LAND RIPS HIMSELF OFF
Greg Land is a comic penciller who uses photographs for his images. Well, I guess copying photos of others isn't enough, he's now reusing his own work. Here's an animated gif (courtesy of scans_daily ) that shows his JEAN GREY and his BLACK CANARY. Jeez.
SPIDEY 3 FAKE POSTER
Here's a FAKE Spiderman 3 poster by some fanboy online. Pretty neat. Again, I'd like to bitch and moan that they "black costume" isn't the symbiote design from the comics.Imagination, where art thou?
JIMSMASH FANTASTIC FOUR 2

So that Fantasticar I posted yesterday.... well, it seems Dodge paid millions of dollars to put their emblem and name on the front of it. Cause, you know, that makes sense since Reed is the one that designs and builds the vehicle. Why not just whore out the entire film to advertising and make them the "Fantastic Wal-Mart Warriors"!! Go Nascar with them and cover them head-to-toe with advertising. I'd really prefer if Hollywood stopped making Comic Book movies. I can count on one hand the number of comic movies I like. Did I mention the hand I'm counting on was involved in a wood shredder accident?
RAGIN CAJUN CAST ?
Looks like John Holloway (Sawyer on Lost) may play the role of GAMBIT in the next X-Men movie. Supposedly he was going to be Gambit in X3 but had to decline due to his Lost schedule. I guess they liked him so much, they removed Gambit from the film to hold off for X4. From what little of Lost I've seen, I think he totally works. But then again, I'm not a huge Gambit fan.... those Gambit fans are quite insane.
