Awwww, yeah!!!
The Juice is back for another JimSmash

So at the European Media Leaders Summit (London), MGM's chief guru dude, Hary Sloan, talked a bit about THE HOBBIT. He said the plan is for it to be TWO films! The first film would be a direct adaptation of The Hobbit, while the second film would draw from "footnotes and source material connecting 'The Hobbit' with 'Lord of the Rings." He also confirmed that they are indeed in "advanced talks" with Peter Jackson to direct the films. They'd be fucking idiots if they didn't get him. If all goes planned, Production wouldn't even begin until 2008 or 2009. So then add atleast another year or two onto that for post-production, etc, I'd imagine.
Here is a list of movies that may of arrived UNDER THE RADAR. You may have missed them the first time out, but I recommend all of them. All fit within the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genres for the most part.
Remember GARGBAGE PAIL KIDS?!!!
Can't remember if I posted this before.....
Here's the Nazi skull image that Wal-Mart was selling on tshirts. They supposedly pulled the shirts saying they were unaware of the imagery's origins and history (although there are complaints that they are still being sold.....). Wal-Mart became aware of it when Rick Rottman of Maryland (woo! Maryland!) blogged about it (behold the power of the Blog!) on his site "Bent Corner."
"The Death's Head symbol was worn by the members of the German Nazi SS. The Totenkopf on the Wal-Mart t-shirt looks very similar to the divisional insignia of the 3rd SS Division Totenkopf. As you can see, It's almost an exact copy. Neo-Nazi's sometimes use the Totenkopf image because it is not as easily identifiable as other Nazi symbols such as the swastika. You might see one of these tattooed on someone's arm while standing in line at Burger King and think it's just an poorly done pirate skull. It's not."
This is a friendly warning. Tomorrow, THE DAVINCI CODE comes out on dvd. You've probably seen all the advertising for it. Well, don't waste your time (or money) with this movie. Seriously, it was perhaps the worst movie I've seen all year. I would normally be offended by what the filmmakers thought of my intelligence as an audience member, but its so ridiculous and absurd I ended up laughing instead. Do not watch this movie. Read the book if you're that curious.
Two policemen dressed as Batman and Robin captured a suspected drugs offender - in a bizarre sting operation. The Dynamic Duo - Sgt Tony Smith and PC Mike Holman - pulled on the superhero outfits in a bid to unsettle the suspected baddies. continued...
