Current Marvel artists and editors don't know shit about the characters in their books. This drives me nuts: Cyclops' Optic Blast is a CONCUSSIVE FORCE (from another dimension inside his head).
His optic blast is NOT Hot nor a Laser or whatever you'll see sometimes see that isn't correct.

For instance, in 'Wolverine: Origins' (stay with me), young Cyclops' blast is like a hot laser, cutting through walls and ceiling,
leaving fiery fringes. Wrong.
CONCUSSIVE FORCE, PEOPLE.

If only there was some kind of encyclopedia Marvel artists & editors could reference for information....
