WATCH YOUR DRINK, AND GET THESE STIR STICKS

Revolutionary Stir Stick Detects Spiked Drinks in 30 Seconds.

Researchers at the University of British Columbia have developed Spikeless, an innovative smart stir stick that can detect common date-rape drugs like GHB and ketamine in under 30 seconds.

The device features a chemically coated tip that changes color when it comes into contact with these substances, offering a quick, discreet, and affordable way to check drink safety—before symptoms appear.

Drink spiking remains a serious concern, impacting approximately 10% of women and sexual minorities, and 4% of heterosexual men, according to recent studies.

Spikeless is designed for use in nightlife venues such as bars and clubs, aiming to make these spaces significantly safer.

This breakthrough tech could mark a major step forward in preventing drink tampering and protecting vulnerable individuals.
