Christopher died Thursday (12/5/24) in a New York hospital after a long illness, his friend, photographer Steven Bergman, announced.
The native New Yorker also was known for his turn as the stoic, half-man, half-bird alien Hawk on the second season of the 1979-81 NBC series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. He often shared scenes with Felix Silla’s robot Twiki.
He was married to Judith Leverone, a theatrical agent, personal manager and playwright, from 1971 until her 2019 death at age 88.
After his wife died, Christopher “dedicated his life to going through her old writings from many years ago, putting it all together as a book and having it published,” Bergman noted. “He always said that she was not really gone, she was just in ‘another room’ and that one day he would join her there.”
^ Unproduced Mego-style figure!
Oh man, I've wanted Hawk toys since I was a kid.
He was the coolest and I thank Mr Christopher for giving us fans such an awesome sci-fi character!
