I feel like this was one of the first. And was primarily focused to the X-Men books with a few other titles have a mild-tie-in issue or so. Also, the Summer crossover stuff happened just once a year, if that. I fell like 'Fall of the Mutants" and 'Inferno' ramped things up. It wasn't until the 90s did it get ridiculous. Then, during the Quesada Era to Now, it's gotten completely out of hand. Now we get a Big Event every 3 months.

So wild Marvel crossover events are nothing new?
