Sweet! Dark Horse Comics is going to collect all the HE-MAN mini-comics (that came with figures) into one big hardcover! The book will be 1,232 pages and reprint 68 mini-comics from the original '80s toys.... "Princess of Power" line (She-Ra), the 90s He-Man toys and the current "Masters of the Universe Classic" line. Hmmm, so basically, 1/4 of this book is going to rock....
.... The more I think about it, the less excited I get. From what I can remember, I think the only truly stellar ones were those first 3 mini-comics by artist ALFREDO ALCALA:
(not as good as Alcala's previous 3, but still better than the later ones)
The Alcala issues felt more like a Sword & Sorcery world akin to Conan the Barbarian, but with ancient tech from civilization long gone. The line quickly became sillier and more inline with the lackluster cartoon show, which introduced into the Mythos crap like He-Man's alter ego Prince Adam, Battle Cat's Kringer, the annoying Orko, and other silly nonsense. But those first 3-4 books were outstanding barbarian tales of Fantasy!

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Mini-Comic Collection HC will be released in comic shops Oct 21 and then in bookstores Nov 3, with a price tag of $30.

A young (and presumably much less cranky) Bruce Timm did a lot of the later ones.
