I really enjoyed Barry Windsor-Smith's
'WEAPON X' mini-series back-when, and this is a pretty sweet statue depicting that storyline. For me, it was the
origin I "needed" and did not want to see more. I liked Wolverine better when he was a chararacter of Mystery.... and when it was the
"Weapon X Program", not "
Weapon 10". The more I look at this statue, the more I want one of you super-cool, gorgeous, smart, witty and giving Readers to buy me one.

Agreed, Wolverine, and most ' mysterious' characters are better, when thier past is a mystery ( Bobba Fett, Joker,..ect..) We don't NEED to know thier past,..That's part of the mythos that makes these guys special and appealing.
Bone Claws ( sorry I know to a lot of people they don't know any better, but go see the official handbook of the MU '84, and it's already in there they were from left over Adumantium.. There's a pic and detailed description, ) was the beginning of the end
ORIGINS was a great story,.. But I would have prefered nothing at all. Because of his popularity, writers saturated him with there own spin and ideas , without looking down the rabbit whole of the pandora's box they have just opened. All to have thier fingerprints on him in the name of "character development" ( the always go to when questioned about poor decision making regarding characters)
Now most readers have no clue as to how awesome he used to be. He went from being a short, hairy, ugly, mean, drinking, fallen Samuri struggling with his inner demons and animal side, in an attempt to solve the mystery if his past, to a normal, charismatic, homogenized, 'good guy' cliche with a son and defacto daughter that we pretty much know everything about. ( and apparently is the lunch pin of the Marvel Universe..)
Lynch pin.....lynch pin....( damn spell check.. :)
They also ruined him by increasing his powers. Back in the day it took Logan almost an hour to fully heal from a gunshot wound and almost two months to heal from his duel with shingen harada. When you can get hurt that bad and be in pain healing for two months it takes a lot of balls to jump into a battle with a dozen ninjas. On the other hand James Howlett (vomit)heals in seconds. If you shoot him with a machine gun his wounds are healing as fast as you can make them. Hell I would jump into battle with a dozen ninjas if I knew they couldn't do any damage to me that wouldn't heal in seconds. James even fell into a pit of molten steel and all his flesh and bone was incinerated...he just got up healed and walked away. IF you can heal like that are you really a "tough guy" in any fight?
yep,..Wolverine wasn't supposed to be indestructible,..Just a Tough S.O.B, who you really didn't want to F' with. I think they kind of tried to rec-con it ( bc they realized they went WAY over board with his powers and now Pandora's box was left open....) that Apocalypse accelerated his healing when he became a Horseman,..( and that's another horrible storyline that we are stuck with and needed to be 'tweaked' and rec-conned to have it tolerable...sigh)
