So, according to several other bloggers out there, Rob Zombie has apparently sold out in a most hypocritical way....
In a 2002 interview, Robie was asked, “How do you feel about big budget remakes of Dawn of the Dead and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?”
To which Robie responded, “I feel it's the worst thing that any filmmaker can do. I actually got a call from my agent and they asked me if I wanted to be involved with the remake of Chainsaw. I said no fucking way! Those movies are perfect- you're only going to make yourself look like an asshole by remaking them. Go remake something that's a piece of shit and make it good. Like with my movie (House of 1000 Corpses) I have elements of Chainsaw in it because I love that movie so much, but I wouldn't dare want to 'remake' it. It's like a band trying to be another band. You can sound like the Beatles but you can't be the Beatles.” (link)
And there you have it.
Personally, I'm just laughing at the pic I slapped together!
Fun-ny!
UPDATE: Zombie recently told Entertainment Weekly, ''I'm not going to do any more Halloween movies, or any more remakes of any kind. I signed up for two more pictures, but not two more Halloween pictures,'' he says. ''They're going to be original stuff — and I don't necessarily know that they're going to be related to the horror genre either.'' (link)
So look for HALLOWEEN 2 and 3 in about five years I guess!

I remember when Peter Hyams said he couldn't make 2010 because how could you follow in Kubrick's footsteps, but I think after every other director had turned MGM down they went back to Hyams with a large bag of cash, suddenly he was 'Oh I think there's a story that needs telling in this movie'
As for remakes of films like Halloween, I jsut wish they'd f**k off big style !
it stinks all around, because for one reason or another i always was rooting for Rob Zombie.
...but he has truly proved hmself to have earned the moniker "Fauxture"
This guy built a secret apartment hidden in a mall. Reminds me of the original Dawn of the Dead. - Link
