Looks great! A visual blend of
HELLBOY 1 and
PAN'S LABYRINTH... which is what the first one needed. Perhaps the Studio gave
Guillermo more control and freedom??? Looking forward to this... although I still wish they would push the visuals more to
MIGNOLA's art style. It's not that I'm never happy, its more that I see the
potential. Oh, and the tone is too light and humorous... just sayin.

I read an interview a while back with Mingola and he was the one who kept saying that the movie should NOT look like his artwork. He also said that the reason the "Amazing Screw On Head" tv show wasn't picked up was that because his art-style only works in comics and not with moving images.
Just watched the trailer. Wow those elf-or-fairy-or-whatever-things look a LOT like the wraith from "Stargate: Atlantis."

I heard the same thing re: Mignola and Screw-On Head. Personally, I LOVED Screw On head with his art style in the mix!!! It's what I wanted the animated Hellboy series to look like. As is, I can't even watch it because of the art.
i really liked the first Hellboy movie. i'm stoked that they have made another. a few things:
-what other movie has that line:"let me show you why you fear the dark..."
-that white haired swordsman looks just like Elric of Melnibone
-who is playing him? i recognize that voice.
