The Hollywood Reporter is saying JJ Abrams (Lost, MI:III) is in talks to adapt Stephen King's THE DARK TOWER into a film(s). People have been trying to do that for years, but King has said he wants a strong filmmaker to helm it.... and King has also been quoted previously saying he's a big fan of Lost.I, myself, have never read the books. But my friends who have say its awesome. I just picked up the comic adaptation from Marvel. Does that count? ;)
