yea, the scrapping of the Space program is one of the dumbest moves you can make given the hysteria, and NEED for alternative fuels, and advancement in scientific progress... the space race is what gave us the modern technology we take for granted today bc it forced scientists to think outside the box and tackle challenges they other wise would never have encountered...maybe a future administration will pick up the wheel again....

It's my understanding that the Space Program has not ended, merely the Space SHUTTLE Program. On NPR many astronauts were ok with it and still optimistic we'll see a human on Mars in our lifetime. "Get yor ass to Mahrs!"
