Another fantastical Versus figure set! But here's the thing... I hate the BLUE Mer-Man... look at the artwork - if Mer-Man was in his normal Green & Yellow color scheme, he'd look awesome next to Aquaman! Why the change, Toy Makers? WHY???

Because green was the regular and the blue version is the more sought after and fanservice version.
very interesting & good point, but then why not put in a "chase" Aquaman as well?
Nobody wants a chase Aquaman, the original Aquaman was the most sought after figure. Technically this is a newly repainted Aquaman with a new shiny orange and gold belt. It's a fanservice pack all the way. Something Mattel has always refused to do, but must have had a lapse in judgement with this two pack. Everyone in the world is happy but a selected few.
The earliest mini comic incarnation of Mer-Man was blue.
