Nice! They are making a figure of BARON SOONTIR FEL. He's a character born within the Novels and Comics series. In a nutshell, he is the best TIE Fighter pilot in the Imperial Navy.... second only to Darth Vader, of course.... and feared throughout the Rebellion fleet.The Fel figure comes in a two-pack, with X-Wing pilot HOBBIE KLIVIAN. (Derek "Hobbie" Klivian the one who finds Luke/Han on Hoth)

I think it's nonsense like this that has screwed up the Star Wars films. Why do we need to know Hobbie's first name or see a figure or comic about him.
You love Aliens right, it's a ;lot better knowing only the basics of characters like Vasquez, Drake, Hudson etc... in the film, we don't need novels or comics telling us about their backgrounds, they do there job in the film and that's all we need to know. To me that makes them better.
Now in Star Wars even the bloody barman in the cantina has a name and history, it's all a load of complete wank. The simplicity of what Star Wars was, was the thing that made it great, soon as you over complicate stories, the prequels etc... you take something away. In a western we knew the guy in Black was the bad guy, we didn't have to know his life story to work that out. That's why these characters work.
As long as people keep buying into this crap Lucas will keep churning it out.

I do dig the idea of a badass TIE fighter out there... like the Red Baron. But he wasn't in the films.
Regardless, I agree with everything you said.
Side note: Both Ridley Scott and James Cameron wrote 1-page background bios for their characters in Alien/Aliens and gave them to each appropriate actor. Most of that info is lost (which is fine), but regarding Vasquez & Drake....

Vasquez & Drake were lifers in a hardcore prison. In prison they became bestest of friends to survive. They then both signed up for a program to join the Colonial Marine Corps, Smart-Gunner positions; front-front lines, very dangerous. The idea was they could spend the rest of their lives in jail and rot, or go kick ass and maybe die in a blaze of glory if ordered to. You can see how tight they are and how unintegrated they are with the rest of the marines in them movie. And when Drake dies, that's some of why Vasquez loses her shit. The original script and novelization mentions that they were "Lifers"... I believe Hudson brings it up when he's freaking out.
With that said, I do NOT want to ever see as story of Vasquez and Drake in prison and shit. The movie stands alone. Leave it be.
