Two Pieces of Shit in Florida were arrested on Thursday for allegedly stealing comic books valued at $30,000 from their grandparents’ comic book collection, according to Pensacola ABC affiliate WEAR. Citing an arrest report from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, the news station says that Nicholas and Robert Mason were charged with grand theft and 16 counts of dealing with stolen property.
According to the police report, the brothers stole the comic books while doing housework for their elderly relatives and sold them at variouslocal comic book stores.
"They said that their grandparents had owned a comic book shop," said Rick Ferrell, owner of Loot Castle, one of the comic book shops involved. “They led me to believe the grandparents had passed away and the comics had been left to them.”
According to WEAR, the grandparents – Johnny and Shirley Pate – are alive, and considered their comic book collection ‘as part of their retirement savings.’
"If you're going to do something like this, think twice because you're going to get caught," said Santa Rosa County police sergeant Rich Alloy.
WEAR didn’t disclose what specific comic books were part of the alleged incident, or if they would be returned to the Pates.
