HALLOWEEN COMICS 2012

HAPPY OCTOBER 1ST!!
Today is the start of the month-long celebration of HALLOWEEN!

Usually I mark this date by posting those movies I intend to watch throughout the month. But lately the movie list has been pretty much the same year after year...

So this year I'm going to post those COMICS I'm going to re-read for HALLOWEEN MONTH!

In no particular order:

NOCTURNALS
This has "Halloween" written all over it!
Fun tales with rich eye candy by Dan Brereton
---
 DEADMAN: LOST SOULS
No Halloween Comic List is complete without some
spooky awesome KELLEY JONES artwork !
 ---
BATMAN: THE VAMPIRE TRILOGY
More Kelley Jones! This trilogy starts with "Red Rain";
Batman vs Dracula with a great ending to Act 1!
 ---
 CRIMSON
Humberto Ramos' fun vampire tale from 90s Image!
 ---
JIHAD: HELLRAISER VS NIGHTBREED
We get 2-for-1 with this series; Cenobites and Nightbreed!
 ---
MARVEL ZOMBIES
The first series was great and a lot of fun!
The 2nd series blew, but then the 3rd was pretty good
- less humor and full of delightful zombie carnage!
 ---
BATMAN: ROBIN MEETS MAN-BAT
(Book & Record set)
Loved this book when I was a wee-little lad.
Freaky Man-Bat stuff with a sweet ending that blew my young mind!
---
 GHOST RIDER
Take your pick of any favorite Ghost Rider story.
 ---
 MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN
Classic!
 ---
 SWAMP THING
Alan Moore's great run is a horror must!
And Scott Snyder's current series is horrorific, too!
 ---
BONEYARD
This one is fun, funny & lighthearted.
But it has all the classic halloween characters you'd want to see.
 ---
 TOMB OF DRACULA
Classic 70s Marvel Horror!
 ---
MIGNOLA'S DRACULA
This is an adaptation of Copolla's 'Dracula'.
Nothing special...
except for the sugar sweet Mike Mignola artwork!!
 ---
 X-MEN: PROTEUS
One of the best X-Men stories around and scary to boot!
 ---
HELLBOY
I'm going to go with 'Seed of Destruction'
and 'The Wolves of St August' - freaky!!

All good stuff, and the Nocturnals is hands-down the quintessential Halloween comic of all time- its Universal horror classics meets Weird Tales meets Silver-Age sci-fi crazy.
