Hopefully this kills once and for all the stories that were going around about making Ann Hathaway the villain in a Spiderman movie.
why is everyone so ENAMORED w/ this chick? i mean, she's definitely not UNtalented, but what... is she just a fangeek's dream to have Catwoman in a Batman movie AGAIN? i trust Nolan & Co. and respect all of his work, but i hope he doesn't waste time w/ some fucking relationship bullshit, which is essentially what killed Spiderman 3.having said that, Hardy is great stuff, despite Bane already being in a Batman movie. hard not to top THAT, tho; much the opposite for Pfeiffer as she could still make one AMAZING Catwoman TODAY.
I don't understand the Hathaway thing either. I'm sure she'll look sexy in the suit, but so do many others - it's not enough. I also don't understand having Catwoman and/or Bane. But like you said, I trust Nolan.... but so far, I'm not stoked for the 3rd, and final [Nolan] outing.
I say let's give her the chance to prove herself, I mean she cannot, erm she couldn't not do worse than crazy-katie or that storm wannabe, right?!
I seem to be one of the masses in my opinion on this subject. Hathaway is an attractive actress and has some decent acting skills, but when I think "Catwoman" I think of a seductive, sultry villain, and that's not how I picture Hathaway. Maybe she'll surprise me...
Way to early to make any assumptions. I agree that Hardy has the ability to kill any role given to him. Every character he has portrayed is indistinguishable from the other. Go watch Bronson for one of the best performances in recent cinema history. Hopefully Hathaway can surprise much like Ledger did when he was cast - remember the immediate doubts cast on his ability. Maybe this is her turn as sexy and sultry. They are actors.
I don't hate it. I'm just underwhelmed with the Character Choices (Catwoman & Bane) and Actor Choice (Hathaway). That's all... just underwhelmed.I've enjoye the other 2 Nola Batman movies, and Nolan's other movies. So I have faith. My comments above were simply first gut-reaction at the casting & villain choices.
As long as Catwoman is a realistic thief who uses gadgets and training similar to Batman, we're good. I'm tired of Hollywood giving her "cat-powers" like in the past 2 attempts.
...like i said, it's not that i think she's a "bad choice", but the CHARACTER (as, to us, Halle Berry's Catwoman = BLEGH) itself has been done and already done. ...and as great as she could possibly be, Pfeiffer's Catwoman was still, to this day, CLASSIC.same as Penguin. despite rumors of Hoffman being Penguin (which, of course, would be interesting as he is a great character actor), i gotta say... DeVito was SPOT ON in that role, and those two were the reason the 2nd one was so great....but like i also said, Nolan is a freakin' GENIUS, so you can only question his decisions so much.having said that, i knew Ledger was gonna be golden. we'd been a fan of that man for a long time and one of our favorite movies of all-time is "A Knight's Tale". RIP, you LEGEND, especially in light of your recent "anniversary of your passing".
ok,..I'm on the same page as everyone here pretty much with the choice of Characters and actors..So the ONLY thing i can kind of see in her playing that role (catwoman) were the minor glimpses of a secret agent in that Block Buster HIT "GET SMART" ( please note sarcasm)-but I'm reaching here.....
