My son cracked me up when we went to see "The Phantom Menace" He was only 4 or 5, but he said,

"It was a really sad movie because Obi Wan Kenobi's boss died".

I will forever hear that story when I see that scene now! He's now part of the mental audio commentary. :)

I'm blubbing like a girl here now you've posted these !!

Why is the death of a puppet, say in Dark Crystal far more movie that Padme's death at the end of ROTS ? Because the puppet had character maybe !?

The moment in 'It's A Wonderful Life' when the druggist (who's been drinking because he's just heard of the death of his son) hits young George Bailey (the lad playing Jimmy Stewart's younger self) repeatedly round the ear for not delivery the medicine he sent to a sick child and George explains that he saw the druggist accidentally put the WONG pills in the bottle and the druggist realises that the medicine was poison and breaks down and hugs George and they both cry...

And THAT is only 15 minute or so into one of the most cry-making movies EVER!!!!

I'd have to say that one for me is the end of the British film 'Whistle Down the Wind' when Hayley Mills see's the Police taking away Alan Bates and he's stood against the sky arms outstretched like Christ on the Cross, now I'm not even a religous person but that is a moving scene !
I also thought the sequence in 'Deep Impact' when Denise Crosby asks Elijah Wood and Leelee Sobieski to take the baby to safety just before the first comet hits Earth.
