In a last ditch, 11th Hour effort, the grass roots campaign to save SPIDER-GIRL from cancellation is in full-force! Here is an open letter from Marcus Sarzelejo, the PR manager of savespidergirl.com:-----------
"Spider-Man's daughter is in danger and he can't save her. But her fans can. Spider-Girl has the longest running title for a female superhero in the history of Marvel Comics, but the company plans to end her run when her historic 100th issue hits comic book racks this August.
Marvel has announced Spider-Girl's cancellation several times in the last five years, and each time her fans rallied with petitions and letter-writing campaigns and averted the cancellation.
This devotion prompted Spider-Girl's co-creator, the veteran Spider-Man writer Tom DeFalco, to say, "Those fans have managed to keep Spider-Girl alive. They never gave up on the title. Not even when Marvel canceled it and told me there was no hope of ever bringing it back. Spider-Girl lives because of her fans!"
With this latest cancellation threat, a group of fans have united across the Internet to coordinate marketing Spider-Girl's monthly comic book in their spare time. They have sent fliers advertising upcoming issues to comic book shops across the country. Within days, several retailers have pledged to increase their Spider-Girl orders."

This "movement" could be just the thing this comic book needs to get it attention - attention that will hopefully lead to increased readership. I would be happy if I could sell one copy! Even happier if I had a few people asking for it.
what about moving the Spidergirl new issues up to the counter? Does that work for other books? Always wondered about that. Or put a "save spidergirl" sign at the register.....
