I posted this on facebook last Saturday, but thought I'd share here, too. At the AUBURN/Vanderbilt game, there was a Vanderbilt fan dressed as a Mandalorian. Auburn lost because we super suck this season and I don't want to talk about it.

I'm very excited about the upcoming AUBURN TIGER Cam Newton figure, by McFarlane Toys.

In additon to being an AU Alum, I'm also a born-&-raised Washington Redskin fan (its been a sad, tough couple of decades....). A few years back, they made a Redskins' JOHN RIGGINS figure which I picked up, and have been impatiently waiting for them to make an ART MONK figure - my favorite! Come on, McFarlane - make it so!

Check out Sideshow's BEACH HEAD figure!! Pretty sweet... although I could do without the weirdo unmasked head versions. I always liked Beach Head... he was Commando meets SWAT meets Ninja (cause of the mask... hey, I was like 7). Later I discovered that his hometown was Auburn, AL.

YEAH!!!!! The AUBURN TIGERS defeated Alabama on saturday in the Iron Bowl!! What's even better, is this is the SIXTH win against them in a row!!!! There wasn't a single player on the Alabama side that has ever experienced knowing a win over Auburn! That could also extend for the students; freshmen through grad students, I suppose! Man, 6 in a row!!! Its a new record and Auburn fans are freaking giddy! Way to go, Tigers!!!! Now gimmie a celebratory "War Eagle!"

BEAT BAMA (SABAN'S AN IDIOT)

This weekend is the IRON BOWL!!!
AUBURN vs Alabama, baby!!

While Auburn has been... struggling, this season (heh), when it comes to the Iron Bowl, its all up for grabs! Gimmie a "War Damn Eagle", ya'll!!!

Bama coach Nick Saban, is also in some hot water after a stupid speech he gave his team last week when they lost to Louisiana-Monroe. In preparation for the AU game, he told his players they must rebound like America did from a “catastrophic event....Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event. It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event."

Nice. While I understand what he MEANT by that comment, he should have known better to compare Pearl Harbor and 9/11 to their loss last week. Idiot. I love the "...or whatever..." part. Ha!

AUBURN WINS 1ST GAME BY MIRACLE

Saturday kicked off College Football Season, baby! And the AUBURN TIGERS won their first game, against KANSAS STATE. Normally I would be cheering and hollering and yelling "WAR EAGLE!!!", but for those who saw the game, I think you know that there's no real reason to celebrate... it was an undeserved win. Man, we played like total SHIT. Yes, I know its a young team, but still. It was painful to watch. And pure LUCK and a couple screw ups on Kansas' part in the final 2minutes is what got us this first win. So congratulations on the Divine Intervention Win, but man.... shape the fuck up guys!

Also, I'd like to say that Kansas played like a bunch of barbarians...
I counted THREE facemasking, TWO helmet-first tackling and ONE grabbing of a helmet and yanking it OFF! What the fuck, dickheads?!! Your reckless playing is going to get someone hurt!! Uncool, man.

Oh, and in semi-related news...
* CONGRATS to Appalachian State for beating Michigan in quite possibly the biggest upset in modern College Football history! Awesome!!!
* CONGRATS to Clay Buchholz, the Red Sox and crazy Sox Fans for Buchholz becoming the first Red Sox Rookie in franchise history to throw an official no-hitter! Nice!!

WAR EAGLE, BEACH HEAD !

Remember BEACH HEAD from GIJOE? He's a lesser known/remembered character, I find. But he was one of my favorite figures; half Commando (Ranger), half Ninja (um, the ski mask... I was 10yrs old people). He was like Rambo and Snake-Eyes rolled into one badass American Hero (but obviously not as cool as Snake-Eyes... I mean, come on.). I'd always have him go off on missions with Snake-Eyes, either fighting-against or teaming-up-with Storm Shadow and Firefly. In fact, in the awesome Marvel comics (pick em up, they rule!), his first appearance (#47), was assisting Hawk during the rescue of Snake-Eyes from Cobra Island.

Later, during my college years, I happened along his file card in the parents' attic and discovered his character's bio has his hometown as AUBURN, AL. Yeah, baby!

AUBURN FOLK

Attn: Auburn Folk!
So we're driving around the block last night looking for parking (street parking, ugh) and this SUV is kind of tailgating me. Well, not so much "tailgating" me as "kind of following me". I turn off onto a residential street and the SUV slowly follows. I do a U-Turn to park on the other side of the street and the SUV slows down then proceeds forward a bit. We're gathering our things and the SUV comes back around and pulls up beside me. "WAR EAGLE!!" a woman's voice comes out of the window. I look up and her and her husband are smiling ear-to-ear. "We saw your license plate frame!!" - which is Auburn Alumni. Turns out they graduated AU in 2000 (1998 for us) and I was the first person they've seen in LA with AU paraphenalia on their car. Plus, we live in the same area! Quick conversation, so that's all I got. They just wanted to give a good ole warm Auburn "HEY!". Pretty neat.

So "WAR EAGLE!!" to all my fellow AU readers!

Just wanted to congratulate the AUBURN TIGERS on their annihilation this past weekend over Arkansas State and they're 9-1 record this year! 2 more to go, baby! Up next, the fucking Georgia Bulldogs (man, I really hate them!) and then the big battle... the war to end all wars... our Nemesis: ALABAMA.

AU BEATS FLORIDA

Awwwww Yeah!!!
The Auburn Tigers came back in the 2nd Half with a suped-up Defense and beat the Florida Gators! Man, there's nothing like beating those Gators.... well, maybe beating those Georgia Bulldogs or our arch-nemesis, Alabama. Anyway, great game! Where were they LAST week against Arkansas, man?!!!
