WRONG ALIEN EGGS

So the new ALIENS: COLONIAL MARINES video game has been deemed a total piece of shit by the masses. Of all the numerous complaints, the one I haven't heard is that they had the WRONG EGGS in the game. In the above promo ad we see a killer looking hive full of eggs... except those aren't the eggs we saw in 'ALIENS', which the game is based on. These eggs have those weird, annoying cirucular "bulbs" around the side like a belt.

They look more like the egss from 'Alien: Resurrection' and 'AVP' than the James Cameron/Stan Winston eggs used in 'Aliens'. Being the Aliens-nutjob that I am, the use of inaccurate eggs bugs the shit out of me.

Perhaps the eggs in the GAME itself were correct, but in the ad atleast they are w-r-o-n-g.

Jim, I was saying the same thing already 4 years ago after the first "screen shots" where shown by Gearbox. Uuuagh!! They never minded to change that one. Well, at least they changed the Alien tails on the fans demand (surprisingly). They had the stupid swim fin tails from A:R, AVP before.

Anyway Jim, if the eggs bother you already like hell, DONT TOUCH THE GAME!

I'll just say a few things not so much to defend but to inform. The egg choice in game was changed at least twice most likely. Yes Gearbox was supposed to be doing the game but eventually gave it to another developer so that they(Gearbox)could focus on Borderlands 2. When the new developer got it they reworked a SHIT TON of assets. THEN when Gearbox was done with Borderlands they picked Aliens back up from the other developer and realized they had done sub par work and scrapped a bunch of that developers assets. To many people had to much say in this game, sad to bcz when I/we got to talk to some of the team at E3 they really knew their Aliens. Sigh, what coulda been...
Also not for nothing, but I remember reading a loooooong while back(early/mid 90's?)that Queens can lay different looking eggs from each other. Or maybe my mind made that up, not sure anymore...

first, please keep in my mind my always tongue-in-cheek tone on this blog :)

so my beef is that this game is set in the world of ALIENS as in the James Cameron Film. Therefore it should look the part. Its like having an "empire strikes back" video game and there's Gungans running around on Hoth - innaccurate! :)

If the game was a broad, generalization of the Alien franchise, then so be it.

Didn't Lucas rewrite Tauntauns to be an off shoot species of Gungans?
