AUBURN TIGER CAM NEWTON FIGURE ! !
Yay! McFarlane Toys is making an AUBURN TIGER Cam Newton figure! I believe the all-white uniform is the rare one (3,000?). I'll definitely pick one of them up.
Any fellow AU Peeps reading this, give me a "War Eagle!" in the comments section!

3 UPCOMNG 'ALIEN' BOOKS YOU MIGHT WANT
If you're an ALIEN Fan, there are 3 books coming out soon that might need to live on your bookshelf:
Giger is doing some work on this film, plus much of it is based on his prior work on 'Alien'. I expect (hope) to see lots of cool shit in here. Maybe we'll be able to see the creative process of destroying the Space Jockey's cool factor & Mythos.

The comic is also getting the ARTIST EDITION treatment - meaning OVERSIZED 14" x 17" BLACK-&-WHITE HARDCOVER, scanned from the artist's ORIGINAL pages!! It also includes never-before-published color try out pages, early sketches, Goodwin's complete annotated script, and an interview with Walt Simonson.
I have the Walt Simonson Thor Artist Edtion HC and its breathtaking. Can't wait to pick this one up!

'ALIEN 3' TRIBUTE SONG
I've always loved this behind-the-scenes promo pic. It's probably the only time the Alien3 SUIT looks awesome.
Ya know, 'ALIEN3' fucking sucks.... but has its charm. I really like it on some levels... you just have to imagine it's a Hypersleep Nightmare or something... Something not official canon. The Set Design, Cinematography and Score are fucking awesome. You should watch the "Non-Director Director's Cut" ('Special Editon' on the dvd) because it is great... until the Alien shows up.... and ignore the Inverted Egg that makes no sense... and ignore the Hicks/Newt death part... and skip the Newt autopsy scene (really, FOX?)... sigh, fucking hate that movie.... but it has its charm!!! Better than 'Alien: Resurrection' and the 2 shitfest 'AVP' movies I don't like to acknowledge (Wolf Predator statue post below aside).
Anyway, CAM (aka Teak Wood Gallows ) made a song about it:

RALPH McQUARRIE'S MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
Over at GaryGoddard.com, director Gary Goddard recently shared his experience working with the late Ralph McQuarrie on "MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE":
When I was directing MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and we were just starting on the conceptual ideas, John DeCuir (CLEOPATRA, KING & I, HELLO DOLLY, GHOSTBUSTERS) was the first person that signed on to initiate conceptual work. I had hoped to involve Ralph but he was signed on to Ron Howard’s production of COCOON at the time and was not available. Then about three weeks into MASTERS, Ralph called and said “Cocoon has been put on hold. Might be a week, might be a month, might not resume at all. Do you still want me to work on Masters as I am available, but if I get called back on Cocoon, I’ll have to honor that contract.” So I said yes, come on board. So Ralph joined us but as it turned out only for about three weeks as Cocoon went back into active pre-production and he had to return. But in these three weeks, Ralph did some interesting design work. With his passing last week, I went and dug into my old MASTERS file and found these. I thought fans might like to see them as they have never appeared anywhere before, at least not to my knowledge.
These are more thumbnails showing the early ideas for the opening sequence. We were to be on Eternia and I had wanted originally to give the sense of a true “world”. Various shots were going to show different aspects and “lands” within Eternia, all leading ultimately to GRAYSKULL CASTLE. In my mind, the idea of bringing the Eternians to Earth was a given due to budget and this was the script that I had signed on to make. But I had hoped in a sequel that we would go to Eternia, and my thought was that the world of Eternia should be every bit as interesting as anything in LORD OF THE RINGS (meaning the books of course), or in the world of the Star Wars movies. But to be different, I was pushing more towards a Tolkien-esque world for Eternia.
'WOLF' PREDATOR STATUE
Anyone's who spent more than 5minutes with me knows I'm not a fan (ie rageful hate) of the AVP movies that don't acknowledge (what AVP movies?).
With that said... I did like the design of the 'Wolf Predator' (momentary pause to sigh at that name), and here's a new statue of the ole fella:
I really wish they's start making AVP statues that depict the ALIEN winning. I love me some 'Last Stand' scenarios, especially with Aliens involved! Give me a statue with 3 Predators being attacked by several Aliens; 1 dead Predator, 1 dead Alien, 1 Predator being killed, 1 Badass Battle-Damaged Predator about to be overwhelmed by other Aliens. Something like that. Gimmie!

I like that the Alien appears to still be alive and fighting.... one "tough little son-of-a-bitch!"
